Too many errors and the way we started the 2nd half with Ioane dropping one cold sort of summed up that 40 minutes.

Entertaining test match nonetheless - other than the long TMO reviews.

Good signs on backline attack, and Jordan's lines were great.

Defence passive, loose forwards weak there. Any real test team would look forward to that selection.

Liked the tactics though and the opportunities we did create but too many errors.

Tactic problem. Our kicking game is too short. They stayed in the game because they kicked long.

Kicking game poor, lacked tactical control with the ball in hand. Look to play too much in our own half

The three front row replacements were good.

Roigard was good when he didn't kick. Similarly McKenzie and Tupaea.

Might just be a bad strategy from the coaches.

@KiwiMurph Savea is a luxury selection at 7. He can be a brilliant player, but tackling and hitting rucks are the core roles of a seven.

@Tim I choose the bet right by the way. ABs by less than 10. But I didn't back my instincts enough. Sadly my winnings will only pay for a beer or two.

Probably as you’d expect for a first match of the season. Overall, we played well but large work ons with defense, kicking and ball handling.

Reality is we had 3 disallowed tries and controlled the last 70 minutes with 3-4 very costly defensive lapses.

Wins a win.

That was really no different to last year. Can't really see what we're trying to achieve.

Razor if you are reading this, please heed these words: champion teams are those that focus on absolutely nailing the basics every single time. If we did that, we'd be so hard to beat. But we make so, so many mistakes.
