The 3 Bs, Bournemouth, Brighton and Brentford look like raking it in from player sales this summer.

Transfer news has gone quiet now that brief window for the Club World Cup has closed - other than the confirmation of well signaled signings (Wirtz & Kerkez to Liverpool). Bournemouth are sitting on a mound of cash now with the Kerkez & Huijsen money but I haven't heard any rumours of who they are after.

we bought Truffert as a kerkez replacement, linked with a few others, especially a few wingers, but nothing signed

likely will stick with the model of buying fit upcoming youngsters than any big names

Who is likely to be sold by Brighton? Joao Pedro is the only name I have heard so far and I think they may be asking too much for him.

Think Joao Pedro is a done deal?

Oh yeah Chelsea of course for over 50m - 7 year deal plus Chelsea are close to getting Jamie Gittens from Dortmund for 55m which seems a hell of a lot for someone with so little top level football but he is very young and has been playing for Dortmund since he was a kid.

They always find ways to exploit loopholes in the rules, so I'm sure they'll find a way to pay for him off a different set of books.

It's very sad, Diogo Jota sounds like a thoroughly decent man by all accounts and it's a tragedy for his family and of course his parents to lose both sons at once.

Interesting to hear that nobody at Wolves had a bad thing to say about him which can't be said for every ex-player.

I think what you meant to say was well done for smashing the 2025 juggernaut of PSG ...

Am obviously very happy, but hard to tell where this ranks on the list of achievements. Behind the League & Champs League for sure.

Chelsea squad have certainly earned their break this year.. First pre season is 8th August, so I imagine they'll only get two weeks, at most, off.

Congratulations to Chelsea on winning a Mickey Mouse trophy.

But I suspect there will be a significant cost for them in November, December and January to only having two weeks off pre-season.

And Paris St-Germaine and their coach clearly lost their cool and decorum at the post-match trophy awarding ceremony. Maybe they should have gone back to their dressing room instead like the French National Rugby team?

    @MajorRage

i think it ranks pretty high
there were about 20 top class programs (and they were all trying) in the comp which is a lot better than any national league
of the big Euro leagues, the EPL is the only one that is even remotely competitive
the only comparable comp is the Euro Champions League, with about the same number of top class teams
roll on the Euro Super League!
    haha

what would I rather watch: chelsea v flamengo, or liverpool at stoke on a rainy afternoon in the middle of an english winter - no contest

i'll tell you what a mickey mouse trophy is

the bundesliga (a one team league)
the french league (a one team league)
the spanish league (a two team league)
the italian league (not much better)
the epl (a litte bit better than that)

    bournemouth v burnley - who f'n cares!

    @sparky

the fracas at the end was probably more of a surprise than the actual result

couldn't really understand it, the game didn't appear to be that niggly and the result was pretty much decided in the first half

woulda thought you'd just cop the loss and get the f**k outta there

the in-your-face tactics of chelsea (which were perfect) was probably a bit annoying tho

Although many will agree with you, I'm not sure you've got that right.

Even the one team leagues, have mini battles in other parts of the table & the opportunity for the rest to knock over the big ones creates huge interest and atmosphere. IT's a diff sport but Drive to Survive has proven unequivocally that the "who cares" teams are equally worthy of the exposure if given it. Wrexham, another.

Bournemouth vs Burnley maybe a who cares match for many, but it will still sell out & have a cracking atmosphere - especially if both are either vying for Europe or avoiding relegation.

The Serie A is probably the most competitive league in the world lol.

Yep Serie A doesn't seem to have any one club much richer than the rest - it is really wide open at the top.

Palace chucked out of the Europa League for double club ownership rules - Forest into Europa League. Seems a pretty harsh punishment for them basically being surprised that they made it into Europe.

Haven't watched the Chelsea final highlights yet, looks like they really did a job on PSG - hard to say if it means anything in the long run but better to win than lose, especially financially. Also it seems bizarre that they can sign a player and bring him straight into a tournament. The concept of a club world cup is fine, but it is all Saudi money and there really isn't the space for it in the calendar - Chelsea are going on their summer break while other EPL teams are already playing pre-season games.
