The season hasn't even started and two England World Cup hopefuls have done their ACLs.

Looks like Sesko to Man U - which kind of fits with their transfer model of players who can look good in highlights pockages. He could be an absolute beast with his skill, pace and physique but if he was that good, a major club would have gone for him

Tall and fast. That's basically Erling Haaland! - Man U Sporting Director (probably)

Nobody wants to go to Newcastle.

Bournemouth haven’t been able to replace two key defenders yet and Zybarni has left to psg in spirit already. Trufert looks good as a kerkez replacement, but If we don’t pick up two cb’s this window we’re leaking too many points to be competitive

England Women well on their way to being hated everywhere except England - well done.

EFL is back and first weekend for the championship. As ever, plenty of random results, relegated Ipswich with a late equaliser at promoted Birmingham and relegated Southampton with a late equaliser and winner against promoted Wrexham.

Will Will Still still instil will to win?

I expect to see Wrexham's promotion trend end this season. The jump will be too high. Consolidation is the main objective

Everton played Roma in a pre-season friendly yesterday. What was significant was that it was their first full capacity fixture at their new 51,000 and £750 million pound Hill Dickinson stadium.

Their first Z Cars walkout at their new home:

Crystal Palace win the Community Shield, the first silverware of the 2025-6 English season. They drew 2-2 with Liverpool at Wembley, coming from behind twice and then beating them on penalties.

Plenty for Liverpool to fix before the EPL opener against Bournemouth on Friday.

Crystal Palace have won the FA Cup and the Community Shield. They've managed so far to hold on to Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton despite wealthier clubs showing a lot of interest in the them.

I can see why their fans are livid that they've been demoted from the UEFA Europa League to the Conference League on a technicality when other clubs are getting away with much worse.

Better chance at a trophy for them there anyway, they win that and they get European football again next season.

Good for them. From a personal point of view, gutted I never got to go to Goodison Park, but they definitely needed a new stadium. Good luck to Everton too, a huge club that'll no doubt be competing again in the future.

@African-Monkey I think if they hold on to Eze, Guehi and Wharton that they are dark horses for Champions League Football in 2026-7.

A well-run club who play attacking football and have noisy fans, it is easy to be impressed with what they are doing.

@African-Monkey It looks fantastic and a big up-grade from the dilapidated state of Goodison Park in the last few years.

The main problem fans are going to have is not much car parking in the area and it's a long way from a station. They are either going to have to park in Bootle or in Liverpool City Centre and walk half an hour or get a taxi.

Crystal Palace lost their appeal against UEFA today and will play in the Conference League. Notts Forest will play in the Europa League.

Steve Parrish said that unless Marc Guehi signs a new contract he will be sold before the end of August to prevent him leaving on a free in June.

Jack Grealish has joined Everton for a 15m one season loan with a 50m option to buy at the end of that time.
