How good is afternoon rugby though, have to think players enjoy it more too.
This is why I think a lot of the "NPC is better" vibe originates.
I like NPC. But I do enjoy the afternoon games. When I do get a chance to watch a match on a weekend evening (no time to watch live in an afternoon) I'll choose a day game.
Especially over night games in the depth of winter.
Prefer Super as a product though. And it's easier to follow 5 (or 6) teams.

As long as the afternoon games are shared around. You shouldn't be rewarded for having no lights.

That's been dealt with above. If we had an integrated NPC / Super competition (this seems the best way to describe the single pro league we need, in order to stop the straw man argument that people want to "get rid" of the NPC), then we would have games over the season that could be spaced pretty well and fill the shop window by meeting the demand there is for the product.
In my preference, we would still have an NPC but it would be amateur, and if there is demand for it, I can't see why those games couldn't be broadcast - especially on free to air, so that kiwis can still enjoy seeing their local club players represent the province.

Ashame that Finn Hurley hasn't featured for Otago.
Was looking forward to seeing him play NPC after he got injured early in Super, thought I saw him named in the squad in one of the earlier rounds but did not see him last week in Nelson. Does anyone know what his status is?

Reagrivated his Super injury prior to the season starting.
Could be available for the very end of the comp. Likely the Landers will pour cold water on that though.
Big shame. He would have carved up.

Thanks SouthernMann. Jesus, that is a damn shame. Hope he has a big 2026.
