I know it was originally derided as a Star Wars knock-off... but on this watch - it was much more of a Seven Samurai knock-off. Wanting to be Dune. Plus the hints of Star Wars (The Hidden Fortress), and I got hints of something else I couldn't click to... I get the impression the Snyder did some coke and decided to make a sci-fi mash-up of about 3 or 4 japanese classics.

I think it was always derided as a Seven Samurai knock off, but it was also originally a Star Wars script.

I'm never going to watch the Directors cut of this, I only watched the Justice League one so I could complain about it to my mate and I'm not sure the 7 sittings it took me were worth it to take the piss out of him.

TBF, part 1 was watchable compared with part 2.

I watched Caught Stealing today, essentially Darren Aronofsky doing Tarantino. Didn't really work. Wasn't bad like a Snyder movie, was watchable, just not memorable and didn't really nail it's tone.

Tit-watch for you @Kruse - a brief shot of Zoe Kravitz's small boobies,

Rogue Moon - Part Two - Directors Cut
It sounded like this was fucking bad, so just jumped to the probable worst version so I didn't have to suffer it twice

    • Yeah - pretty bad
    • Typical Snyder stuff. Not going to go over my prime theory as to what/why that is again
    • EXCEPT... things that Zack Snyder doesn't understand:
      -- human relationships
-- continuity in movie-universe physics and shit
-- traditional sequence of events in movie plots (fair'nuff)
-- effective sequence of events in movie plots (not-so-much)
      -- battle scenes
-- several other things I found weird but got too bored to remember
    • As to tit-watch... it is clear he has one theory on it. "Get it done, out-of-the-way, in the first 5 minutes - make the movie a non-zero titwatch so I don't seem creepy - but get ALL that icki-ness out of the way ASAP, so I don't need to think about it ever again." Fucking creepy dude. You don't want tits, just don't do tits.

1 "really... you think there's going to be a 3rd?" out of 5 "fuck it... throw him some money, the ADHD kids will watch it, and so will I if I'm honest"

Finally got around to seeing the “The Final Reckoning” latest in MI chapter.

Really wanted to like this as have enjoyed most of the movies. Felt like an hour too long and strangely more drawn out drama than real action and even the action felt largely flat.

Sure a couple of good nifty links to previous movies but I guess they had to because nothing left for them to explore.

Probably the worst since the Sydney based one, but even that was better.

2.5 overly botoxed Cruise’s out of 5 three hour farewells.

The F1 movie was fun if a bit silly. Pitt was very cool, I was never bored, it looked good, the Simpson/Bruckheimer "high concept" formula still works really well.

    Read this book:

@bayimports i started it the other night, got half hour in and turned to something else...will probably finish it, but at that length I can treat it like a 4 part series....

    K-Pop Demon Hunters

    The daughter made me watch.

    My conclusion:

Do yourself a favour and watch.

    Fun movie.

Just park any need to understand the whole thing.

Ms Boo Jr advises it took 10 years to make, and even then Netflix got them to chop from 3hrs to 1.5. So that there are many unanswered questions. But it doesn't really matter.

Save that shit for the sequel(s).

    Sit back and enjoy.

    Music is great.

    Gladiator 2.
Damn this was bad. The original is one of my favourite films. This is like TFA to Star Wars. Similar story but just shit. The main dude had zero acting ability and charisma. Not even a pale imitation of Martin's cousin. Denzel Washington was of course great but even he couldn't do shīt with this turd burger.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood

    • Can't understand how anybody would rank this in top half of Tarantino (please don't take this as an invitation to do yet ANOTHER ranking of Tarantino films. It's been done. Ad nausem. I say knowing perfectly well.... )
    • Just... nothing happening, 2.5 hours of style-over-substance
    • And occasional random moments of shit happening
    • Perhaps that's a me-thing... going into a Tarantino movie and expecting stuff to happen. To be fair - the style was well done. And was probably just drunk-ADHD me wanting/expecting dumb stylised violence... I'll revisit Kill Bill next... that'll scratch the itch I was hoping to deal with.

    Footwatch - too much

If @kruse didn't ban the ranking it would be in the top 5.

Force of Nature: The Dry 2

The girl and I were scrolling through Netflix and found this. Pretty crappy and forgettable. Eric Bana did his best but a bunch of women I cared nothing for went on a retreat in the wilderness, one got lost, Eric turns up and investigates……

Boring as fuck, some nice bush scenes and views helped a little bit.

1.5 corporate getaways out of 5 police investigations

This thread is a fucking rollercoaster. Tit-watch, foot-watch, and now we've got nice bush scenes getting 1.5/5?

Never saw it. The girl mentioned that when pitching the idea of watching to me. Apparently the one we watched has nothing to do with it and is crap in comparison
