    Watching Stan analyse Tuapea try.

    Two things:

    1. Excellent clearance from Christie; and

    2. Tuapea had a LOT of work to do. Great line, but went through three or four half tackles.

    This is what's often overlooked.

The All Blacks only won that game on the back of two great individual tries to Jordan and Tupaea. Obviously teamwork put them in the position to make those plays but ultimately so much of a game of rugby comes down to individuals having a big moment. Similarly, Savea getting his turnvover and Ioane holding up the ball prevented the Boks from getting scores (and on the flip side, Marx missing a fairly regulation tackle on Jordan).

Had Tupaea and Jordan not had their individual moments of brilliance, the post-match vibe would be completely different. Percentage plays ensure you have a greater number of opportunities for freak occurrences, of course.

it's hilarious that a bloke laughing and clapping is getting all the attention when the cringiest thing i have seen on a field in forever was Savea flexing after that breakdown penalty. NFL players don't carry on that much FFS.

Yeah they do. All the time. And worse. Much worse

That’s a TD celebration which is a bit of fun. Ardie came out of that ruck like he was the Rock just defeating Triple H at Royal Rumble.

In the NFL they celebrate big for all sorts of plays, tackles for loss, sacks etc.

Lots of times they celebrate a defensive play

I absolutely love how Vaai does this. Its the sort of fizz the all blacks need. Gets in the saffas heads. Brings some shit housery.

I must confess to loving this at the time - but then a mate pointed out it's exactly the thing that we whine about Itoje doing....so I have changed my mind and now hate it...

I did think he’s acting like itoje , and he irritates me 😀,but I also respect him as a player

I think you can probably get away with it more when you personally are playing well, at least tupou is ticking that box .

I’m probably a bit old school, but it doesn’t excite me , him playing well does excite me though, and I used to wonder what they see in him when he was first brought into the squad.

Did Kirifi try to punch a bok in the last 5 or so minutes and was restrained by another AB? I didn't get to see it again, happened quite fast.

Didn’t see it either but saw South Africans online complaining about it , they described it as a slap

Oh I am pretty certain I saw him try but from the angle don't know if it connected and don't know but would like to know which AB held him back.
He stepped into the fray to join in and it was close to our line so looked mighty rash.
Just interested in the quick-thinking AB who stopped him.

There was a video from a concerned Bok fan showing ABs in lineout shuffling forward but never showing the microseconds before it was to keep up with Marx who kept shuffling sideways closer to his catchers.

Tremendous irony coming from the gold watch country.

I made if further than you, and that was one of the m ost embarrassing things I have watched.

Firsdtly, as you point out, their hooker moves to create a new midline on EVERY SINGLE CLIP in the video. Dude's little straight lines never move and often don't even connect to the thrower as they wouldn't prove his point.

Second, imagine being an SA forward while this was happening and not being able to point it out to the AR or Ref - those newbies Kolisi, PSD and Etzebeth just let it happen? Weird!

The obstruction calls are even more laughable, like we are suppposed to just wave them through with a pat on the back.

I gave up at 4mins when the video turned to scrums, because:
    a. I was bored; and
    b. I am convinced that "dark arts" in the scrums are just made up by ex-fatties to try to confuse everyonme else into thinking that they are cleverer than they really are when all they really do is push and shove a bit before the ref takes a guess...sorry @pakman

Nice. Even if the first bit isn't true (which it probably is in most cases 😬) the latter certainly is!

@voodoo I understand the biomechanics a bit. As for the dark arts, that's outside my knowledge. But I don't doubt there are many tricks and treats.
