I feel like Bana should have had a more illustrious career to date. He has been in some cracking movies but I always thought he was destined for a bit more, he's a superb actor.
He wasn't interested in pumping himself or others in Hollywood. Hung back in Melbourne.
Victoria still has Bonnie Doon. Smell the serenity.

There are many beautiful places in Victoria and while Bonnie Doon might not be the highest on the list there is still something to be enjoyed there ( serenity ) even though its not Lake Wakatipu.

Fight or Flight: Fun action film starring Josh Hartnett. I had no idea what this was about when I went to see it, it just fit the time (the only other movies were horrors and I don't really watch them). He's on a plane trying to capture a fugitive and return them to his bosses to get his career back, only problem is the plane is filled with contract killers trying to kill them both.
It's totally implausible but a whole lot of fun with some vicious fight scenes. It's probably the closest I've seen a western film get to the Indo action films style I really love. Hartnett makes a good fist of the beginning of his slightly older guy action career.
Doesn't seem like it got a much of a cinema release in the rest of the world.
3.5 chainsaw kills out of 5.

Went in uninformed on purpose
Great pacing, lots of jumps, good acting
Interesting storyline but with an unexplained premise

The chick with the two minute noodles for hair from Ozark is a massive red flag for me, is she at least tolerable ?

She's very good
Very much an ensemble cast

For me, she's good in everything. But I guess we all like/dislike different actors.
Helps that I first saw her in The Americans which is one of my all time favourite shows.

Eden
Jude Law, Ana De Armas, Sydney Sweeney, Daniel Bruehl
Based on the true story of Dr. Friedrich Ritter and Dore Strauch flee Germany in 1929 to live on one of the Galapogas Islands.
As he documents his life there, another couple go there to live as well and soon after, a wannabe socialite who plans to build a lavish resort there.
Decent enough story, havent looked into how close to the actual events it was, doesnt really get going and moves along at a sedentary pace.
3 packs of wild dogs out of 5 does iguana taste like chicken

I just recently listened to a podcast about this (I think it was Behind the Bastards, but could have been a history one. Is Ana De Armas or Sydney Sweeny playing Dore? Either way, they're both far more attractive than the mental image of her that I have in my head.

@taniwharugby said in Movie review thread...:
@Nepia ha, neither play her, Vanessa Kirby plays Dore.
Sweeny is made to look very plain in this as the wife of Bruehl, while Ana is the socialite, who despite her surroundings tries to keep up the look.
Haha, no one seems how I imagined them.
