All Blacks vs Wallabies Bledisloe I

We win this week and lose in Perth I reckon,
Boks beat the pumas twice and secure the RC

If we go 1-1 or 0-2 with Aussie I think he should be fired.
You can’t be losing every second game.

When we win TRC all our problems will be forgotten.
Not around here they won’t. Nor should they.

Taylor and Roigard returning make a massive difference to the ABs.
Taylor is very important to the set pieces, very big gap back to the next in line both in scrummaging and lineout accuracy. ( how he is not the AB captain is beyond me)
Roigrard speed of pass and accuracy of kicking changes the feel of the tactical game.
The loss of Valentini is a big blow to the Aussies.... But McReight and Hooper are absolute pests at the break down and led by Wilson who appears to be a great talismanic leader - the kind players lift for and follow ..... kind of missing in ABs in recent years.
I like JOC at 10 for them particularly with his composure, reading of the game and his passing, with Ikitau and Suaalii outside him (in very good form and only getting better) and the raw pace they have out wide they are as dangerous and exciting Aussie back line I have seen in years.
My two concerns with the ABs
1.) I have massive questions over the ABs attack and as others have pointed out earlier Jason Holland has been down right underwhelming....2.) 10 is a constant issue for me - Inconsistent and poor option taking is the norm for BB. DMac doesn't fill me with confidence either --- at what point do we take a punt on one of the next generation as the two incumbent's are well beyond their best and in the twilight of their careers, if I am generous both can still have the the odd moment of brilliance -- the loyalty shown to BB just does my head in.
I expect to see an AB win but I wouldn't be overly surprised to see the Aussies get up. (TMO Jonker will be sure to get involved)

@Mattasaurus Beauden is well past his best having had a decade of playing 10 at international level. McKenzie is quite different, as the best 10 in Super for the last 2 years and having had the majority of his caps at 10 last year.
These are not the same player. -
@booboo I read something somewhere about them wanting to aim for a 5pm crowd to encourage different people i.e. families to go, as they were worried that all the 7pm crowd had already been to the previous game and wouldn't want to pay twice in a short period.

@booboo some idiot has decided to put it on the same time as the AFL grand final.
Wouldn't want AB fans to see players kicking accurately, would just give us unrealistic expectations.

NRL would never do such a thing. Rugby are amateurs in a professional world

That's irrelevant to a NZ audience.
Some idiot has decided to play the Perth test at 10:45 pm NZT.

And it paid off. Both games sold out.

Who are the officials? I did a quick scan of previous posts as well as a search via AI but no joy confirming.

@allblackfan2 Yeah . he doesn't inspire confidence. Unfortunately, if he needs help it's this guy...
TMO: Marius Jonker (SA)
FFS. When are they going to ditch him. He wasn't up to it as a ref, so they just hid him off screen to continue making poor decisions. I really hope he doesn't get involved but he has a way of injecting his awful thought processes where they aren't wanted or needed.

He should have logged onto the fern and checked your username. Would have saved a lot of awkward chat.

This from AI:
Andrea Piardi is known for:Letting games flow when possible, especially in club-level URC matches.
Firm breakdown policing — he doesn’t shy away from penalizing slow or illegal ruck work.
Clear communication with players, which helps maintain tempo.
Compared to more whistle-heavy referees like Mathieu Raynal or Nic Berry, Piardi tends to strike a balance — not overly lenient, but not disruptive either. His style has been described as “assertive but not overbearing”, and he’s praised for consistency in decision-making.
