All Blacks vs Wallabies Bledisloe I

What the Wallabies did well was heads up rugby with short passes letting the ball create space - the unstructured stuff we used to do. That’s why they looked more dangerous running. Now every thing we do is a pod, a box kick, a cross field kick. Our players were turning in and running into contact - Va’ai and Tupaea both bombed tries. Attacking on the line we just charged straight and got tackled and held up. It’s not like we can’t play that game, and we need it to to beat the Boks. It’s just we don’t seem to have the Coach that can get that from this team.
One area I thought we would do better at was scrum. Wallabies held their own. Hence why we were given a lesson by Boks. What was a strength is now just a pass mark. Needs work. Williams should start.
Wallabies won 100% of their scrums against the Boks in both of test matches. There was only one scrum penalty in the second test against the Wallabies.
Wallabies scrum is excellent in my view. They pack far more tighter and have good sized locks with a bit more about them

@kev Williams should start?? So you’re saying the problem is Ethan De Groot?! He’s been the only consistent one at Scrum all season!!
De Groot has been folded in numerous times this series and was one of the poorer props in super rugby. Williams is a far better scrummed and better around the park

Need to take the goal kicking duties off Beaudy long term too.
If Jordie or DMac are NOT on the field, sure, fine, go with Beaudie.
By why the fuck do we leave points out there by insisting on using an inferior goal kicker?
Why?

Vaa'i giving away too many ruck penalties.
Yeah. I'm a fanboi, but he reverted a bit tonight

You'd almost think Australia had a decent scrum coach....
Thank heavens with our great depth of coaching talent, we didn't feel the need to retain him

Welcome to Straya

I reckon if this goes down to the wire , we will be the ones under the pump , Aussies will have nothing to lose
Yep.
We were.
We won.

@jimmyb Yeah he battled with Neck issues for the first half of that Super Season (shouldn’t of been playing) even admitted it himself on an interview.
That’s all well and good but he’s been poor this championship too. Hasn’t reached his top form that he had in early 2019. Williams on the other hand has been excellent

Beauden is 34 and a (should be outside) back whose effectiveness has always had a lot to do with acceleration and pace.
Scott is a 31 year old lock, he may well still have plenty to offer.I agree, I'd like to see them relieve him of the captaincy with a view to him taking some time out to get his body and mind right. We really miss peak SB, especially close in, Holland and Vaa'i still have a lot to learn when it comes to both accuracy of clean outs and defense around the ruck.

Yeah, pretty jarring to watch Mike speaking at HT

The reffing was random as fuck, and to be honest I reckon he fucked the aussies pretty badly.
I think the part that annoyed me most about the non-card and card (whether the calls were right or not) was that as an AB fan I really wanted to see a big improvement in the final quarter, but the cards gave us an easy ride right after the Wallabies had got back to within 2. I think there was some improvement, we did push up field after their try which was good to see, but their YC basically put the game to bed. So hard to win when a man down at that level when it's all about the fine margins.

Also a sub plot that no one’s brought up, Tim Donnelly has done a seriosuly good job with those Wallabies forwards. Another coach lost overseas
Now he has overseas experience he can apply for an All Blacks coaching position
