Feels weird to be watching cricket when it's pissing with rain and freezing where I am. Not complaining though, well apart from our disastrous start

Just tuned in, what an abysmal start. Was it poor shot selection or just good bowling?

A bit of both. Conway charged and missed a straight one. Seifert didn't get underneath one. Chapman strangled. The current pair is going bloody well.

Well done Robinson. NZ could be 15-20 runs short.

Robinson lifts his average from 37 to 47 in one knock.

Being able to send out Mitch Marsh and Travis Head as your openers is a flex

    Bowlers being slaughtered.

I'd like to see Gray-Nicholls make some 1980s Super-Scoops and see the current generation of players play a few matches with them!

It's probably mostly just a talent thing, but sometimes it feels like we're out of date on how to play T20. Watching the Jamieson over, Head swung wildly at everything. A couple of terrible looking misses, 3 fours and a 2. Result: 14 runs. We seem content to work the ball around and only target a couple of boundaries in each over. When your 2-3 swings are hits, that's great as you get 15-20 runs off the over. When you miss 2 or 3 you only get 8.

Jamieson is not a T20 bowler. He is a test and 50 over bowler FFS.
Why risk another injury by playing him.
Plus what is all this short bowling shit. Be a Hazlewood and bowl full at the wickets and they can't get under it!

It was 10 degrees at the Basin one day I was there vs Bangladesh some years back.

Fairly sure they threw the game deliberately early so they could get back home sooner.

Back on topic. Absolute hiding here. Australia never troubled.

That was an icy wind last night (observed from my lounge, I'm too much of a wimp to attend). Zampa looked absolutely frozen when he came onto bowl. Thought after his first delivery was a pie that his fingers were too cold but he bowled well after that.

Why the hell are we playing cricket in early October?
