All Blacks vs Wallabies Bledisloe II

Lakai is such a out of left field selection given he's barely played at all. Its not like he is in form or got tons of minutes under his belt. I don't even think he looked that impressive on Saturday.

So if Parker goes down injured early there will be three leprechauns in the loose trio ?
neat.
Unlikely in that scenario. Vaa’i to 6 and Patty into lock.
Ah yeah, was so outraged I didn't even think of that.
Still. A seriously crapola selection overall.

dont think savea and lakai both starting is a good idea
Surprised Robertson didn’t stick Sititi at blindside too.
-
Rieko is back, on the bench?

Some of their selections just tend to be so random. A flawless lineout on Saturday and then they drop Holland. It just doesn't make sense.

I don’t mind Lakai being selected because I think he will play better than what we’ve seen from Sititi this year.
But it comes back to the fact that Ardie, Lakai and Sititi should be fighting out for two position - starting 7 and bench 7/8 cover.
LJ not considered. He’s not injured, but I wonder whether he’s at the match fitness levels yet?

Actually, I’m surprised they didn’t do that and have Kirifi on the bench.

I don't have much to add really, already lost faith that these guys know what they are doing. We have so much loose forward talent in NZ but we can't seem to pick a trio that can even compete at this level. Lakai, Savea and Sititi all in the 23 is just so stupid, despite the fact that I really want to see Lakai get good minutes as I think he has a very high ceiling.
Agree on Jordan. We've taken the worlds premiere winger and turned him into an average fullback instead. If it ain't broke don't fucking fix it, his try scoring record on the wing is unbelievable. At fullback we just expose his issues defensively and under the high ball.
How long do you think it'll take for these guys to realise that Super ≠ test footy?

@Kirwan Cry more. Great for Lakai and LF to get a shot to prove themselves. Will is a world-class Fullback, are we seriously judging him based on the 1-2 rusty games he had against the Pumas/Boks
Sorry for expecting more of the All Blacks than whatever this is.
Jordan has been mixed at Fullback, great on the wing. He's not good "both sides of the ball".

It will be interesting to see how the lineout goes without Holland. Parker may have to be used more.
He’s a good sized unit. He and Vaa’i are basically the same size, so we should be using him a bit more.

In fairness Jordan sucked on the wing in the Boks game in Wellington.
I dont mind the Lakai start given Sititi's form is a shadow of what it was last year and Jacobson has never done anything in test match footy.
Given Clarke's injury I don't mind the selection of Leicester on the wing - he played well there filling in for Telea in RWC 2023 (knock out game?) when Telea got suspended for team protocol breach.
I probably would have kept Holland and rested Vaai.
-
I guess SB, Vaai is our 'premier' locking combo, Tuipulotu is quality too so needs to be there, Holland is surplus.
As to the loosies...it's a big man's game...
