I’ll go against the grain and say that DMac was mostly good.
Thought his taking it to the line and passing was excellent minus a couple of shit passes and conversions.

Yeah - whilst he does some maddening things I thought he was miles better than Beauden

What did you all think of LF?

Busy, made metres, but also made a few mistakes.

Really good. Could be a good bench option when Clarke is back

Bench was good. We won the last quarter for a change.

It must be intimidating to see Williams go off and another huge bull stroll on to replace him. Well, sometimes at 3.

Good power. Good intensity. Needs to work on the high ball like most of the team. Not the most natural winger but having a power winger in wet conditions is useful.

I think Dmac just needs to be given the keys. Love on the bench.

Hes had the keys and keeps fucking it up. Give them to Love.

Not a cross kick or dink insight.

Not having Beauden Barrett at 10 improves our backline.

    DMac shades BB at 10.
Must stick with DMac on EOYT.

I would beg to disagree - DMac is a very, very average intl 10 who is easily shut down. BB (field kicking aside) is a better option still, though it pains me to say it.

We’re fucked when our two best options literally can’t pass properly

Yes, I don’t disagree. Not having a quality intl 10 is a real Achilles heel for us atm

Our backline has looked the best it has all year the last 2 games.

Coincidentally the first games all year we haven't had Beauden at 10.

Dmac wasn't amazing tonight but it's night and day the performance we get out of our backs when he is playing as opposed to Beauden.

Disagree. The backline flowed better tonight and the conditions were shit.

I don't know why our MF looked better than it has all season. But I'd like to see if DMac was part of the answer to that question

It was pissing down with rain and Jordie was running off his shoulder like a league player against an increasingly dysfunctional Australian defence. The northern teams would eat DMac alive at 10.

Yes for me he is competing with Rieko, possibly for a bench spot, betters suits midfield, and Rieko has some work to do.

Tbh part of it is that Tupaea was much more involved than Proctor was, in most games this season.

Best AB performance of the year, arguably. They showed unusual composure and discipline. They varied their game and their defence was much improved. I thought the Jordie-Quinn centre combination was a significant step-up from what we have seen to date and the bench finally made an impact. Nothing brilliant, but given the atrocious conditions they were remarkably accurate. Only DMac’s early misses on what looked like a couple of relatively easy place-kicks let them down. The Wallabies’ backline fluency is a joy to watch but their discipline was poor, reflecting no doubt the pressure the ABs put them under. Praying for Jordan’s knee.

Well finished but that scoreline flatters you

Considering we left 9 points on the field with horrible kicking, not really.

20 mins against 14 men and they butchered 10 pts
