NRL 2025

That was a fun watch ,
As a storm supporter although don’t follow as closely as years ago when I used to attend live games ,
I was concerned about the broncos , teams that get on a momentum roll can be hard to stop, and this isn’t the cam smith led storm , their best is as good as anyone but they have also shown they can fall apart when it’s not going their way.
Walsh is in a purple patch of form, reminds me of jarrod Hayne years ago when he had a crazy good season .

@kiwiinmelb commiserations. It’s interesting with the Storm this season, as great as they have been they have struggled with putting two great halves together.

Yeah consistency has been the Bellamy trademark, and this year has been quite the opposite .
They do play very different to the smith/ Cronk years though, that team was far more structured and methodical , Bellamy has adapted the game plan to suit his now players , far more ad lib playing what’s in front of them . Overall a different mindset which probably can lead to more fluctuations I guess .

probably not far away from a prison stint either ha ha

Kiwis have been named:

Pretty settled team really and one last hurrah for Foran likely at 7.
No Riki is a bit of a surprise (especially as the Kiwis insta has been featuring him the last couple of days) and Warbrick might have played his way out of the squad in the GF.

tough year for Sydney rugby league
Wahs win the NSW-Cup
Broncos win the NRLW
Broncos win the NRL
Raiders win the minor premiership
Qld win Origin -

few spuds, few good players, a few past their prime. Pacific Championship should be pretty good to watch

Not too many surprises, youre probably right about Warbrick too
PI teams looking even stronger this year, could be tough for all four teams

Congrats to young Xavier Willison.
Not sure if he will make a game day 17, but a meteoric rise for the former union kid.

if i had to stab at a ladder
Melbourne
Cronulla
Brisbane
Penrith
Bulldogs
Manly
Dolphins
Cowboys
Roosters
Newcastle
Raiders
Bunnies
Eels
Dragons
Tigers
Warriors
TitansFinished 2nd. But picking Melbourne at the top of the table is a gimme
Slightly overrated, finished 5th
Picked the Broncs for 3rd, they finished 4th
Penrith finished 7th but were better than that
Underrated the Dogs who finished 3rd
Overrated Manly by a bit, only managed 10th
Picked the Dolphins to finish 7th, they finished 9th, but without their horrific injury toll the would have played finals
First loool, picking the Cowboys to play finals.Picked the Roosters to come 9th, but they came 8th and played a final.
2nd lool. In my write up i picked the Knights to be in the spoon race and AOB to get sacked. Both of these thin gs happened, why the fuck did i put them here? probably overrated Ponga TBH
Massively missed the Raiders, but so did everyone, they were 2nd in the market for the Spoon before the season
Bunnies ended up 14th whacked by injury
Eels were better than i expected, Moses stays fit and they are already battling for the 8
Dragons finished 14th
Tigers did show a lot of improvement to get up to 13th
Warriors were way better than i expected based on Metcalf being better than anyone saw coming, Clark being a huge buy, and for half a season anyway, having an elite middle rotation. Couple of new names help too. My bad Wahs boys
Titans avoided the spoon on for and against. -
I see the Warriors have signed Khan-Pereira.
I know very little about him, looks good in his highlight reel though. What’s the go with him, likely starter or will he be stuck behind DWZ?
DWZ is cooked. Not sure Webby got the memo yet. And there are others that need to be set aside next season if we are to do better
-
He has genuine speed. Not a noted meter eater or defender, but not as bad as DWZ. Will be interetsing to see how he is used, do you need a someone to put in big metres when CNK and RTS are doing that role.
In 2022 the pairing of AKP and Taine Tuapiki carved up for the Burleigh Bears, if that combo ever gets to run together again

TT is undersized, but he played well for the top team last season. They have to find space for him, he has some X factor
-
We're sort of a bit fucked because Webby is all in on Penrith-ball which needs huge metres out of your outsides to start a set. AKP has jet shoes but he isn't carrying hard out of his own end. Tuapiki isn't either.
So we pick absolute lumpy spuds to carry the ball. The trade off being we can't score any fucking points. And we are boring to watch.
Punt DWZ, RTS and CNK in to the sun, pick dudes with speed, young centres, and at least try to entertain us. Because we are not winning the comp either way.
We have good to great middles. We have guys who can attack an edge. Fucking use them. -
AKP has shit defense too, so we need to get used to still cursing our outsides as we let in another winger untouched.
