Alien Earth
- took me until the credits of final episode to figure out it was Adrian Edmondson. It was always a slight niggle in the back of mind... "who the fuck is that?"
- the score... I'd seen a headline for an article about how well it was done - never bothered to read it. Binging the last 3 episodes tonight... noticable. Tesellate was fucking brilliant - I suspect that if anything - the scene was written/tweaked around the song. And Animal for final episode end credits - chef's kiss.
-
- normally I mock a soundtrack where the songs are chosen based on the lyrics/title matching the plot/content. It usually comes across as childish. But in this case - done so fucking well.
-
- I suspect my judgement might be tainted by nearly every song being used is something in my playlist/genre/favourites.

I've just finished the first episode and feeling pretty underwhelmed so far.
Of what ? We've discussed numerous shows on here.
Yeah true it wouldn't be the post directly before mine would it.

House of Guinness
Seems kind of like Succession set in olden day times and when the patriarch of the family has already died.
The four kids are every kind of stereotype we've seen before ( and of course Netflix being Netflix one of them has to be gay ) so all very ho hum so far. Not bad as such but nothing new.
Will stick with it and see how it turns out.
Disappointing lack of Guinness being brewed so far.

I thought it was ok.. decent filler when I couldn’t find anything else to watch. Was good to see Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) in another role

Yeah that sums it up perfectly so far. Will still give it a hoon, I might make sure I have a porter/stout to drink while watching a few episodes tonight.

Deadwood S01E01
- got a wee bit drunkish
- rewatched most of S01E01
- Fucking hell - maybe one of the best opening episodes in TV history - I'm watching it and every 5 minutes thinking "fuck, they're setting that character up for the rest of the entire series perfectly"
- pristine

Current watching list all on Apple
Slow Horses
Just keeps getting better and betterThe Morning Show
Loving it
Lots of show history
If you’ve never watched it I’m not sure it’s worth the investmentThe Last Frontier
Air-Con, the cold version of Con-Air set in Alaska
Nonsense, but because of the cast, good nonsense -

Task
All finished tonight with Ep7. HBO have had some really good shows in recent years and this is another. The last two episodes were fantastic.Yeah definitely very watchable, but...
... thought the shootout and trying to get the drugs at the end was rather over the top when there was no getting away. I can't buy a bunch of bikers are going to try and shoot an enemy in front of the FBI then try and take on the FBI over a gripe. -

Just keeps getting better and betterI have just watched the last episode of season three. Although I have enjoyed the series so far, I found this episode disappointing. I can't get spoilers to work so I will just say the action scenes seemed well out of place and unbelievable.

I stuck with Monster, the Ed Gein story.
Is an interesting watch., however, it isnt a binge watch kind of series given some of the macabre content, so in between I have been doing a bit of reading on Gein, and would appear the writers have taken a decent chunk of artistic licence with stuff that is not true or was never proven.
The last episode in particular seemed to be padded out with scenes inside Geins head simply to pad the episode out.
He supposedly inspired numerous serial killers as well, which highlights how fucked up the world is.
Charlie Hunnan put in a pretty good performance as Gein, particularly how they seemed to portray him that is almost at odds with how idolised he supposedly was.
how they have portrayed him, in the end you I did feel some sympathy for how fucked up his relationship with his mother was. They showed him as a necrophilliac, yet he denied this, in the series he killed many more than was ever proven and they show him as having a part in gettign Ted Bundy arrested, although this was in the final episode with alot of stuff played out in his head, it isnt clear if this was alleged to have happened or what might have happened in his head

Ed Gein
Havent seen it yet but yeah hes been the 'inspiration' for several fictional killers.
Norman Bates (Psycho), Leather face (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Buffalo Bill (Silence of the Lambs) and alot more.Sounded like a lovely guy really.
