Saw and Saw II
These movies are THE most utterly implausible bullshit ( seriously, how would someone riddled with Cancer be able to set up what he does ) but still well done and creepy and twisty.
I guess they make you think how you’d react given the situation he puts you in.
Will give III a go tonight

The Wolf of Snow Hollow
A wolf starts murdering women at full moon and terrifies a small winter town.
Terrible acting, bizarre edits, awful dialogue, it’s basically one of those ‘too stupid to be serious, not funny enough to be a comedy’ type flicks.
Gets half a star for Robert Forster ( always good and in his last film ) and some lovely snowy scenery.
Utter shite

- I fucking love how asian movies have that slightly different slant on movie tropes
- Some of it - you're used to, understanding....
- ...Then they just do something a little bit weird
- The same kind of shit where in a Hollywood movie - you think "bullshit, what the fuck", but with a different "flavour" .. maybe?
- And overall - more nuanced, or just not typical, or just incomprehensible, motivations for characters
- Pretty sweet baton vs knife fight scene
- Titwatch - non-zero, but not exactly rewind the VCR until the tape breaks type stuff
- Oh - and I'd forgotten about that ending... fuck...

Pretty entertaining ( if not at all action packed ) thriller.
Michael Fassbender bloody good as always, even Cate Blanchett looked decent ! Some great lines and a few twists and turns about secrets, cover ups and selling things to foreign enemies.
Thought provoking and intriguing, worth a watch.

Edge of Tomorrow
- Always considered this a "guilty pleasure", but not enough to revisit - then read comments here about it being legitimately good
- Revisited over the last two nights... had to split it in two, because baseball playoff game starting at Friday 3pm... meant I made a poor decision in starting a movie after I got home, but incapable of watching it in a single sitting
- Good.
- A few moments where I had to wonder "if I was sober and could be bothered... does that make sense?"
- IMDB Trivia: "Tom Cruise admitted that Emily Blunt was an actress he wanted to work with for a long time, and he recommended her to the producers for the role of Rita." - little bit creepy
- Titwatch - zero, except maybe in Tom Cruise's private cut?

Watched it on the plane. Switched off my reality chip and just enjoyed Cruise being Cruise. Stunts were ridiculous, story super far fetched. But not without some entertaining moments.

The daughter made me watch.
My conclusion:
Do yourself a favour and watch.
Fun movie.
Just park any need to understand the whole thing.
Ms Boo Jr advises it took 10 years to make, and even then Netflix got them to chop from 3hrs to 1.5. So that there are many unanswered questions. But it doesn't really matter.
Save that shit for the sequel(s).
Sit back and enjoy.
Music is great.

Started off as though it was going to be good and seemed a decent premise, spiralled out of control into a steaming pile of shit at an ever increasing rate, the ending made me want to throw something at the telly.

Ok so 90 minutes felt like 150, somehow held my interest but kinda felt like a Guy Ritchie movie without all the fun stuff. Maybe too cerebral for me.
Watchable, but I wouldn't recommend.
