@MN5 i will die on this hill
carrie fisher had died before the last jedi was finished production and if we're all honest Leia does bugger all after the space flying scene, have her force PUSH the other people on the bridge back through the door (a force skill we know exists)...saving them like bad ass bitch she was...and float off, give her a heros send off
they made her selfish and save herself only to die not long afterwards

Yeah that scene was so bizarre as was keeping Leia alive
we all knew she died before filming was completed, i assumed and many did too i imagine that they would take that opportunity to kill Leia off as well. Instead we get that weird space mary poppins scene and keeping her around in episode 9 by using unused scenes and doubles stitched togetherOf all the crimes they committed in the sequels, the biggest gripe for me is they never had the big original 3 in a scene together.
We never saw Luke, Leia and Han (and Chewy) all together.
Such a wasted opportunity -

Hopefully @Nepia comes along to mention how the sequels are so much better than the prequel trilogy
Correction - the first two are, the third is so bad it fits in perfectly with the prequels.
I'll partially agree with this.
The Rise of Skywalker made me appreciate the fact that The Last Jedi was in fact no longer the worst Star Wars film.
The prequels rock and they're also a meme goldmine, something the sequels will never be.

i just dont know what the LJ is trying to achive, side quests that dont lead anywhere? making the new republic look like it was a couple of dozen people (we're talking 30 years after the fall of the empire and they only had such a small presence off those core worlds?), destroying what little was left of the originals. as i say, take away some cool visuals.....and its just as much a mess as RoS

Yeah the Force Awakens at least had potential.
Also worth mentioning General Hux was such a snivelling bitch of a villain. Compare him to Moff Tarkin who had a genuine air of menace and could order Vader around to some extent.
General Hux was played by a guy who couldn't even outwit Peter Rabbit.
This scene was embarrassing for all concerned.......

@MN5 yeah, they played it safe in general which i dont begrudge them...but instead of building on a few small things they.....what?....took some acid and say "wa ho fuck it!"
hux had some potential....because he was obviously not on par with the military of the empire....but desperately wanted to be...so could have been this slightly incompetent wildcard

1000 points if you can guess the first and overwhelming comment to this post

have we talked about the supposed original concept for IX? this guy animated the main plot points
not sure its..."good"....but probably "better", corusant (sp) would have been a cool setting for the "normal people fight back angle"
still very heavy with the force ghost mystical stuff
