Am I going senile, or was this series originally billed as Australia v Great Britain? I recall thinking during the last couple of weeks it's been a while since we last saw Great Britain, so I must have gotten the idea from somewhere.
I reckon it would have been better to Great Britain to reflect the historical prestige of the Ashes tour. Plus, the jerseys they were wearing looked more GB then Eng.
Anyway, I had planned to watch this over breakfast, forgot and opened this thread, saw the score so just watched the extended highlights. Seemed a pretty flat and lifeless game from the highlights.

For from flat or lifeless.
By fuck why do watch league when you have nothing good to say about it?

I fell asleep after about the 60 min mark. England were always facing an uphill battle at halftime going down 8-0, as they didn't take some massive opportunities, in part due to Reece Walsh, but had they taken at least one, then the 2nd half would have been all on. But yeah, England weren't coming back after that
Sadly for England, I think Aussie only get better from here and will win 3-0.

There is the chance of a big score if they start to click on attack.

I watched the ten minutes before half time and the half hour after it. Very one-sided indeed and I didn't find it an absorbing contest. Reese Walsh, Cam Munster and Angus Crichton were excellent for the Kangaroos. England seemed in slow motion by comparison.
With so much Rugby on next weekend and the weekend after that, I won't bother with Tests two and three. I suspect they will both be big wins for Australia.

Yeah, I'll only be watching highlights for the next two with all the matches that will be on, and hopefully in a fortnight I'll get to go out to Parramatta to watch the Kiwis in the Pacific Cup final.

UK TV ratings for the first Ashes League test.
The England-Australia League game at Wembley got peak viewing of 930,000 on BBC1.
That compares with 9.6 million for the peak viewing on the same channel for the England-France in the Rugby Union 6 Nations decider in February.

thought this was huge as well "The Warriors had already announced the signings of three members of the Broncos team that won NRLW this year โ Gayle Broughton, Mele Hufanga and Annetta Nuuausala."
