You know fellas, I know this is the Irish test we discussing, but I genuinely worried we might lose to Scotland for first time on this tour. Somehow think we are or should be metally set for this one, and I worry about relaxing in tests after.
Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if we lost against Ireland, Scotland and England after bragging about a grand slam.

I'd agree with you, except for what happened last time.
Cant possibly happen twice; can it?The Irish won't have the element of surprise this time. But we are probably a weaker team this time. But maybe so are they...

Yes. You'd have to consider both teams are a bit off their 2016 form.
But the No 2 world ranking is on the line in this game; that must say something about the progress of the game since then; but I dunno what . . . -

an 18 game streak
and doesn't that just feel like a long long way away
Two in a row currently

Depends on who Ireland roll out but they are not to be underestimated. They beat England who beat France this year. They are still a tough cookie.
Easy banana skin.
They will come out and throw everything at us. People will be expecting the ABs to win this game so the pressure will be on us.
We should look to smash their scrum. Our options for challenging their lineout aren't as strong with injuries.

Not happening
Scotland will shit the bed
-
@MiketheSnow They generally do, but their schedule is milky this autumn so will have this one circled.
-
@game_film probably the only reason Scotland agreed to this fixture when it was scheduled after seeing Ireland and Argentina getting wins....

I fully expect us to drop one game on this tour, perhaps two, maybe even three.
Previous grand slams tended to come at times when the Southern Hemisphere sides were dominated. Since Covid, games between the old 5 Nations sides and the Rugby Championships sides have tended to be much more evenly distributed in terms of results.
Three tough weeks ahead.

I'm less worried about Chicago and more about the other games - esp. Scotland and England.
It'll be the making - or breaking - of the team. Need to see more consistency, some semblance of a coherent game-plan being executed, less dumb kicking - and exits.
If we lose two games or play one as badly as the Boks Wellington fiasco, serious questions need to be asked - again.
-
@Victor-Meldrew I'm worried what the likes of Tadhg Beirne, Jack Conan and Josh van der Flier are going to do to these All Blacks at the breakdown.
Our backrow has been poor this year.
