If the extract about his nearly sacking from Fozzies book is right then it does not paint Mark in a good light

I'm finding it difficult to think of anything that does. His idea to invite an Aussie team or two into a NZ competition, the Foster-Razor debacle, private equity..?

How Fozzie painted Robinson is exactly how Robinson comes across. Wishy-washy.

One of Devlin's better rants. Worth ten minutes.

@sparky Robinson and NZ rugby played a part in Devlin going solo. They would not engage with the Devlin anymore so he came to an agree with the station and left.

So is that a good thing or a bad thing?

@tomk Odd thing for a CEO and an organisation to do. Be more think-skinned and take the criticism with humility.

Need to a CEO that can mend some fences that Robinson kicked over.

I don't know who was more nervous speaking at the AB announcement - Kirk or Robertson.

                        @Tim

Might be good to have someone from outside of Rugby but versed in professional sport.

Don't follow cricket much, but from what little I've seen, NZ seems to have it's act together and pretty well run.

David White is former ceo of Auckland rugby, Blues, Wellington rugby and Hurricanes. Also had time at Bristol. Admittedly this was all 15+ years ago.

Saw the headline and wondered if he's earmarked for the NZR role.

But the text in the statement about "new leadership" suggests new board may have pushed him.

                                Anyone got any goss?

It needs to be someone from outside the NZR system. The big question is whether Marks would be prepared to take a huge pay-cut and move the family back to NZ.

Why Marks? I don't know the guy, but he's an ex-basketballer who is GM of an organisation that has won nothing? Why do we need a famous CEO?

Yeah Marks is about to get shitcanned from the Nets any day now.

Although on the positive side I think he would still be a major upgrade on Mark Robinson.

IIRC, the NBA has a very different player development model - depending on college teams?
