I can analyse Ardie Savea in a much more measured fashion though.

Really? So what's his real height, then?

    He’d be 5 foot 13 and a half on a good day

Or about 4 or so Cubits if you want to go that way.

The Ritual - Al Pacino, Dan Stevens.

About an alleged exorcism in the US. An utter crock of shit - cheesy dialogue, crap special effects and Pacino simply going thru the motions.

Al is 85. It's a damn good effort for him to still be going to be honest.

I'm a massive fan Heat, Carlitos Way and Scarface are absolutely legendary performances..... but yeah, this looks like formulaic shit to be honest. Your review is probably spot on. Does he have a few ex wives to pay off ?

Mr Burton - The true story of Philip Burton, the schoolteacher (played by Toby Jones) who taught and became a lifelong mentor and friend to a certain Richard Jenkins and became his legal guardian. Jenkins took his guardian's name and became Richard Burton.......

One of those sleeper films which draw you in and spit you out the other end. Brilliantly acted, written and paced - and resonates as it's so real. Superb film.

Predator Badlands: So there's three good Predator movies now, there may be 4 but I can't remember the first sequel very well, the other two are the original and Prey.

This is a Predator set in space with no humans on a planet that at times looks remarkably like NZ (was filmed in NZ. It's obvious when you see toi toi and there are river scenes that just look like NZ but with CGI alien planet stuff).

Stars a NZ actor as The Predator and one of the Fanning girl as an android.

    Spoiler:

The Predator was the "goodie". It was always inevitable this would happen but they stuck the landing on it.

Rewatched the two Blade Runners back to back.

Also caught this online which I hadn't seem before, fleshes out Bautistas character heaps more and proves he is by far the best wrestler turned actor ever.

    Cool little scene.

Hes such a great actor, and agree his Character despite such short on screen time was brilliant.
Those extra shorts helped flesh it out

i only discovered BR2049 a couple years ago, such a master piece and a shame it did so badly at the Box Office
On a side note how amazing is Denis Villeneuve recent run of movies...

    Sicario
    Arrival
    Blade Runner 2049
    Dune Pt 1
    Dune Pt 2

Haven’t seen the first two but he definitely gave two of the 80s most inconsistently reviewed sci fi flicks a new lease of life.

The original Blade Runner and Dune seem to be equally loved and hated overall, I personally loved them, real thinking man’s sci fi ( definitely helps reading up on the lore online though )

    I'll have a gander.

I do love his work. The style he created with BR and Dune was absolutely outstanding. I reckon the late authors of both franchises would have approved.

Not sure he's suitable for Bond though ? time will tell.

Back to Blade Runner there is so much depth to both films, Rutger Hauers speech at the end should have won him an Oscar. Roy Batty saving Deckard and showing empathy and humanity was a final "fuck you" to his creators.

    Magic scene.

In a particularly poignant touch he passed away in real life the same year his character did ( 2019 )

Agree. Sicario is such a good movie. Violent, raw and Benicio Del Toro is perfect for his role. And the ending...

I have been meaning to watch Prisoners at some stage. Another Villeneuve movie.

Watched the new Frankenstein on Netflix.

While on the longer side at 2.5 hours (what isnt these days) it seemed a different take on the tale, that I largely enjoyed, giving you the story from both Victors and the 'Monster's' side.

3.5 wolves out of 5 fuck that looks cold

Assume the immortality, fast healing and super strength are not part of the original Frankenstein

Such a menacing feeling throughout Sicario, you dont realise at the time you aren't watching the movie you think it is.
Cant say too much without giving it away.
The part where they go across the border is pure tension filled and brilliant

have heard Prisoners is very very good as well, must get round to watching it too.

I love Sicario. I'd watch that probably twice a year. The pacing, cinematography and soundtrack just give a constant atmosphere of threat.

Prisoners is another very good movie. Jackman's portrayal of the father is superb.
