Borthwick interviewed there on UK TV about Earl having been training as an emergency centre for the last year, and Pollock as an option for the wing in order to have 6/2, 7/1 splits etc.
I do think the other nations are leaving us in the ha'penny place in regards to coaching and culture.
Real last days of Rome about us. No one gets dropped, old stagers still knocking around. No innovation.
If only England had practiced the midfield lineout, he could have gone for the triumvirate of coaching innovation.
Got to laugh at Borthwick being touted as ahead of our coaching.
Dont misread what im saying......I just feel it is taking an eternity for us to do things that are obvious for all to see, such as getting rid of Rieko, Reece, still waiting on Beaudy etc.
Ardie and Beaudy and others seem to always go 80 mins in contrast to Kolisi and Etzebeth getting hooked. Opposition squads are being built, while we have Ruben Love burning aviation fuel like Henry Kissinger to only hold tackle bags.
You kind of highlighted my point in a way...when a luddite like Borthwick alluded to the fact he has been training forwards to play as backs (for over a year) then we are behind the curve.
