Buendia is a great little player who has struggled with injury. Adds a bit of craft to Villa's hard workers.

Doku is a joy to watch to anyone who likes freestyle football. City have moved him closer to the penalty area instead of being stuck out wide and defenders are scared of him when he runs at them. Not sure I can think of a player you can compare him to for playing style with his fast feet and acceleration. City use a Cherki, Foden, Doku triangle in the middle of the field, looking for one of them to get space facing forwards to either play a ball for Haaland or push to the full-backs out wide where it is usually defender free.

And in good news for everyone, Notts County won tonight to move up to 3rd and an automatic promotion spot - stop the season now!

On Buendia, he adds energy too when he comes on, always gets about. He's improved on his shooting and pass range too. A crazy turnaround after we tried to sell him in the summer.

The Scots lead the Danes 1-0. If it finishes like that Steve Clarke's men are off to the World Cup.

Scotland beat the Danes 4-2 to qualify for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 34 years. Hugely emotional scenes at Hampden Park.

This wins the award for the most understated comment on one of the best finishes i've ever seen. McTominay's overhead was incredible. Got to love the guy, didn't look good enough at Man U and takes the decision to go to Napoli of all places. I went to watch them a few weeks ago and its remarkable how he has become something of a folk hero out there, not least I suspect because he's been filmed smoking and dancing with locals after games.

The game was nuts, three of the best goals Scotland will ever score and an end to the game which once again proves why other sports struggle to engender the love and passion that football does.

@Dodge The atmosphere at the end was one of the best I've ever seen at any sports event. Huge passion and belief from the Scots crowd.

Love the stadium atmosphere but I’ve spent most of my day whilst pretending to work watching videos of people in pubs celebrating the winner and the goal at the death

Premier League to introduce a spending cap from next season

Premier League to introduce a spending cap from next season

Clubs' on-field spending will be restricted to 85% of their football revenue and net profit or loss on player sales.

Doesn't this continue to give the advantage to the richer clubs?

29 years ago today, Ali Dia played his one and only Premier League game for Southampton FC and almost scored a goal.

The Sunday League player must ranks as one of sport's greatest con artists.

Surely money in brown envelopes must have been involved somewhere in this?

Arsenal running away for the North London derby. Eberechi Eze with a hat trick. First one in a North London derby game since 1978.

A good game. Eze could have had a fourth soon after his third goal.

The introduction of Malen after halftime changed the game.
