I'm OK with the stick knocking people out, they need to address why he didn't get shot in the face, agree.

Ha ha. I take it back. He is no Samurai at all.

Henceforth I will refer to him as Monkey Magic dude.

Rancid you're generally a pretty level headed ferner and I love your work but for some reason you get a bit pissy about Star Wars ? I remember you and M4L having a real scrap about female leads in Star Wars ?

Of course I'm being stupid, we are arguing about a guy looking too japanese in a movie series littered with asian influences.

The scene that bothers you needs to be judged when it's finished. It's not uncommon for scenes in trailers to be missing special effects, so for all you know it could have lightening on the stick.

I agree that they need to address why they were unable to shoot him from point blank though.

Stormtroopers aren't exactly well recognised for their shooting skills.

I plead guilty to being rather passionate about Star Wars which (probably like you) was an important part of my childhood and didn't include blind guys fighting with sticks. But ultimately I'm just passionately defending my position against the stupid idiots who dare to question my pitiful fanboi rants.

To be fair, iirc the M4L scrap was more about me losing my shit after he called me Greenback's sidekick. Dildo in the mouth piston wristed gibbon.

Ah Monkey, a blast from the past. I thought the look of Whittaker's character might have been borrowed off Sandy but I'm not sure. If one of the other members in the rebel band sports a rake as a weapon we'll know

I came across a picture of the actress that played Tripitaka, but I don't remember her looking like that...

Might be hard to use a blaster when you are blind

Not if you use The Force surely?

Something that has been bothering me about the whole SW saga which occurred in A New Hope and it is this: If Luke was being hidden from the most evil, all powerful empire ever seen, with two leaders with extraordinary force power, why did they not change his name from Skywalker? I mean, they could have found him in the bloody phone directory.

Perhaps Skywalker is the SW version of Smith?

NTA: I'm over Han, Monkey Magic dude is what's causing my pitiful, geek-induced tantrums these days. I may have mentioned once or twice that I'm not a fan.

And he lived with his aunt and uncle. Obviously Darth never popped home for Christmas or birthdays after the whole lava ate my body incident.

Just to start you off of that again I noticed in the last trailer it clearly shows that Monkey has backup from Forest in that scene you keep getting wedgies over

Well doesn't this just keep getting better and better. I generally have to piss once during a movie so I think I'll use that window.

    A few points about this.....

    • This scene still KICKS FUCKEN ASS......even today

    • Haha, first to die was a fat guy called "Porkins"

    • If Han had only taken out DV instead of his wingman the series would have been VERY different.....

    • further to this point.....who was firing the guns on the Falcon ?

    • Luke is the worst mass murderer in cinematic history ( depending on Alderaans population I suppose )

There has been talk for years now of Peter Jackson doing a Dumbusters remake but I'm sure one of the hurdles is him wondering if everyone will think he stole the climatic scene from the Battle of Yavin 😉
