@MN5 A worrying thing for England is that he's right about Archer.
Bowled nine overs the previous day and looked super threatening.
Second innings he was struggling to crack 135kms and innocuous.
2/11 off nine overs in the first innings.
0/45 off eight overs in the second.
He's not going to be much use if he can only bowl two shortish spells per match.
I think their batting approach and talent is of more concern.

The most disrespectful and annoying thing about this is
There's no fucking cricket to watch on a Sunday. Have a fucking look at yourselves you fucking fluffybunnies. I'm supposed to fl9at around the pool this arvo drinking beers and watching cricket.
Now? Just floating around the pool, drinking beers...What time does Sha Tin come on line?

I didn’t understand why the English bowlers didn’t follow oz’s lead and bowl across the Aussie batsmen, bowl it wide of off stump towards the slips and see if they took the bait. They made it all too easy for them, I don’t think it would have mattered if they were chasing 200 or 350, they still would have got there

I'm a bit sleep deprived from watching the footy this morning and had a mini-glitch.
I thought, "Why didn't fucking NZ Cricket schedule yesterday's ODI for today, so I'd have some cricket to watch"?
Then I remembered...

Boycott is right about Archer. He's great until he has to bowl a third spell. Odds on him being injury free by the fifth test must be about 50/50 at best.
Especially because his entire teams plan mean he will never get a decent rest.
Which makes their idea over a 5 test series even more idiotic

Everyone fell in love with Bazball. Maybe bit so much now
Maybe not so much if you want a 5 day test match, but I think the Aussies were playing bazball too.
Heads innings was bazball ultra, beat them at their own game.

I've avoided the rugby threads here for a while, but I'll get right back into the cricket pages. How good. Suck shit England.
Certainly not ruling them out for the series, but you feel like that was the one they had to win. Cummins will be back in Brisbane. Joffra/Wood will only tire as the series goes on. We've just got to keep them at the bowling crease for as long as we can.

England had everything going their way at lunch yesterday.
- A lead of 100 with 9 wickets in hand
- Lyon crocked
- Khawaja crocked
- Doggett bowling dogshit
- Boland under pressure
All thrown away by tea and then trampled on by the end of the day. Yet Stokes and BMac won't change their approach which presumably means they will continue with driving outside off with no foot movement on bouncy pitches to balls that aren't full enough.

There’s no logic in their approach either
How does it make sense to bat in such a way you don’t give your own bowling attack a chance to rest up? Not that they should have been anywhere near tired after rolling Oz so quickly.
I’d normally be backing the poms being the under dogs but I hope Oz pumps them 5-0 -

There’s some good banter flying around, I like this from one of Australia’s better fast bowlers…..

I really hope England can get competitive ( in the cricket, the banter…..everything ) they’ve made a fucken horrific start so far.

I just don't think there are that many players that still posses the powers of concentration to bat long periods anymore when the conditions favour the bowlers a bit. Gone are the days of people like Dravid and Amla being superstars, all of the money is in the short form which rewards players that can hit the ball a long way, without testing their concentration over a longer period of time. So the best use of the talent available has been to let them "bat their natural way" to make as many as they can before they cock one up. Does feel like a coaching issue though, their focus should be teaching these guys that have excelled in the shorter form how to really dig in when the going is tough so that they can cash in later.

And now England refuse to field any of their XI against the PM's XI in Canberra. It's a pink ball D/N game designed as a warm-up for the Brisbane test.
The main team are in Noosa instead. Who needs match practice in Aussie conditions anyway?
Anyone who's purchased tickets for Days 3-5 should be feeling really nervous right about now
