Who was the flyest of halves in 2025?

Rules as stated in Intro thread, but reminder please to.

    • Give reasons for nomination
    • Argue like squabbling toddlers
Polls will be posted by the deadline that has yet to be decided …

Sacha Feinberg-Mom... Mong... The South African kid.
Even though the Saffers (at least their government) love their gays-and-jews killing Palestinians, they have unearthed quite the jew...el at first five. Should have been sent off for an early shower against Ireland, but man, what a breakout season for the guy. Flashes of brilliance amidst otherwise solid showings.

    Finn Russell - Scotland

Dazzling creativity, vision, and audacious playmaking consistently unlock defences while controlling the game with precision and flair.

Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, this kid has a massive ceiling, and he was influential in everything the Springboks did well this year. Massive future. Clear standout at 10 for me.

Did you steal that from some glossy brochure at Edinburgh airport?

This might be an A N Other winner. I really can't think of anyone that stands out above all others.

The Saffer guy looks to have all the gifts but has not done much so far, very much early days. Does he get it on potential?

    NZ 10s? Nah.

Aus? Do me a favour. It's been a revolving door with the stand in JOC being the pick of a pretty bare cupboard.

Ntamack has been injured and a bit hot and cold.

Russell is too many rocks and not enough diamonds, even if those diamonds are very sparkly.

England? No one has had the reigns for long enough or shown the all round consistency necessary

    Ireland similar.

Wales? Do we even know any of their names?

Argies? Well if they settled on Carreras he would have a good chance, but they haven't so he doesn't

Allan and Garbisi seem to be swapping around too much for either to make a claim.

A N Other it is then.

    Agree on all of that.

The thing with the Springbok kid is that Pollard has still played quite a bit this season at 10. I guess all the rest have been a bit up and down or downright poor, the rugby world are so keen to talk about the next potential great 10. Long way to go for sure.

With every other top team rotating 10s, it really should have been BBs award to lose.
    I think Russell.

Like your theory. Uruguay had 6 wins in 2025 anyone watch any of their games and know who their 10 is? Almost feel this would be the next best case and given results maybe a tier 2 deserves it given the protest vote

@bayimports Yep. 15 letter with only 1 recurring vowel would have done it.

I think Tomás Albornoz has had some stellar games, but I might confuse them, the Argies all look & sound the same to me for some reason (it's racism. I'm racist).

I'm not arguing your points but the rules state (I just clarified with myself) that we must nominate and vote for actual players.

Only in the event of nobody voting will AN Other be selected.

Edit: further clarification has been sort, and the committee advises me that a vote for A N Other may be applicable or a position where only one nomination is received.

SFM and it's not even close. Not sure about an above suggestion that he hasn't done much this year. He's not played every game, but few players (particular South Africans) have. There's still room for improvement in various areas but he's unqualified stionably excellent already.

Before you vote for SFM, ask yourself how good would Finn Russell (and others) look behind the Springbok pack?
