Rugby World Cup 2027 Draw - LIVE

There is an article on Stuff saying that the top teams will be more interested in what side of the draw they end up on, than their pool opponents.
While the winners of Pools A, B, C and D play a 3rd-ranked team in the Round of 16, they would then play each other in the QFs. The Pool E and F winners should have a tougher R16 game but won't face a Pool winner until the SFs, so potentially an easier draw.

Agree with that.
I say you only want to meet SA in the final.
It's not that SA are unbeatable, but I'd rather not have another game coming up in 6 or 7 days after the physical and mental effort of getting that done.
Winners of pools AB and E are one side; CDF on the other.
So what side of the draw you end up on is important. Also; if the blacks end up in pools A/B or C/D, you likely play a band one team in the Quarter-finals.
So the draw is definitely important, and worth a watch.
Probably why they set up like this.Might be a scenario where losing a pool game could evemtually work out in your favour.

I expect us to get Italy, like almost every other World Cup…
7 times so far.
I'd laugh if we got Australia. The only big team we haven't been in the same pool as previously.
The other fact I read:
Never played before: Chile, Hong Kong China, Spain, Zimbabwe

So it’s the Rugby Championship sides + a few more on one side of the draw, versus the Six Nation sides + a few more on the other side.

That’s it then, we better get accustomed to this Boks side next year as we’ll need to beat them to win another WC.
