South Africa have really dropped the ball on this test, they should be looking to England on how to play the game.
Batting for time and pounding India into the dirt in a safe boring manner to secure the test and series, but what kind of brand is that??!!?
They should have flailed a quick 150 off 20 overs and made a game of it.

i watched the last session last night. It looks like video work has already been effective against Jaiswal. A number of very similar dismissals trying to cut far too close to his body.

I cannot see this Indian team surviving today even if the light comes to the party.

Note the size of the crowd yesterday too. Would have been a bad crowd in NZ for a test. Indians love cricket? bullshit. Indians love watching India win, everything else can get in the bin.

India 4 down already (although 1 a nightwatcher) so going to be a comfortable South African victory I suspect, but loving Sai Sudharsan's vigil - 6 off 67 at the moment. I've probably just jinxed him now, but would love to see an epic 200 ball 15

All over. What India didn't seem to learn from the hiding we gave them, is that if they make pitches so spin friendly, then players like Santner and Harmer become near unplayable. Generally they are not big turners of the ball, but their accuracy makes them difficult to get away. On a pitch like this, they become deadly as that accuracy is combined with turning it sideways which means they bowl a LOT of wicket taking deliveries.

            @No-Quarter Another bizarrely selected team.

What the hell is Jurel in the team for - batting at 4. He's a wicketkeeper with one modest test century.

Then Pant, who should probably be at 7 - followed by Jadeja, Reddy and Sundar, who all should ideally be at 7 as well.

Have they not got any specialist batsmen?

              Delicious.

Smacked by 400 runs to lose 0-2 at home.

              Suffer in your jocks.

2-0 is good but 3-0 is better. Black Caps did so well.

Considering Cricket is their number one sport, well, more of an obsession its worth pointing out India suck at sport in general.

That was a great catch to get the final wicket. It helps that Jansen is so fuckin' tall.

Record loss for India at home. They discovered Marco Jansen at Potch, now their chief destroyer.

late career Virat Kohli ramming home that he is the undisputed best ODI batsman of all time.

ODI hundred number 53, averaging 58 after 307 matches is fucking insane. To put that in perspective, there are only 3 guys that have batted over 200 times in ODI cricket to average 50+, Dhoni at 50, ABdV at 53. And he has 4-5,000 more runs than them, and a lower percentage of not-outs.

Actually, throw in a T20I average of 48, and you can probably call him the best white ball cricketer ever.

on top of that it was the 11th time he has scored back to back ODI 100's
guy is def the GOAT of ODI batting
53 x 100s from 295 innings is beyond amazing, i dont think theres anyone comparable in Test cricket with that record.

Viv Richards doesn't compete with Kohlis ridiculous numbers on paper ( well actually a SR of 90 vs 93 is close to be fair ) but I would have loved to have seen how he'd have gone in todays era. Extremely close I'll wager.

                                The NZ U19 squad.

Five players with domestic caps have been selected to represent New Zealand at the 2026 ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia. Otago opening batter Tom Jones will captain the 15-strong squad who depart for Africa on January 2.

                                https://www.nzc.nz/news-items/rising-domestic-stars-set-for-u19-world-cup/

What piqued my interest is Flynn Morey. He was in the NZ Schools rugby team this year, so another who will have to make a decision on which sport to focus on in the future.

In Boult, Wags, and Southee we ended up with a very decent international pace attack in the later 2010's, Bracewell always has that slight 'what could have been' thought in the back of my mind. Hobart turning out to the be peak in some ways.

Doug Bracewell retiring from all cricket.

In Boult, Wags, and Southee we ended up with a very decent international pace attack in the later 2010's, Bracewell always has that slight 'what could have been' thought in the back of my mind. Hobart turning out to the be peak in some ways.

Not in some ways, in EVERY way. One incredible performance at test level which he can dine out on and quite rightly.....I hope he regales everyone who ever accosts him at a pub about that one.

That was a very strong Oz team he knocked over.

Looking at that batting order I can't ever remember McCullum opening in tests, Ryder at three or KW at five.......

                                          Hopefully he enjoys retirement.
