The media usually talks up the SEC teams, but that is three wins in a row by different Big Ten teams.

Nick Saban (ex Alabama HC) made a smart ass comment to-day about the apparent college football power shifting from the SEC to the Big Ten.

He said something along the lines of . . .
"The only reason a player would want to move from the south to the north is for money."
Maybe an element of truth in what he said

College football players can earn quite good money now, and the Big Ten colleges have access to huge amounts of finance. Some in the south do as well.
The Big Ten just knocked back a huge $2.5 billion silverlake type investment; dealing with a similar sort disputation that NZ rugby went thru.
All colleges had to agree to it, Michigan didn't like it, for the same reasons a lot in NZ didn't like the silverlake deal, and nixed it.
But the money guys will be back sometime.

They'll need a miracle. But in one game that's possible.

7th easiest schedule in the superbowl era (from memory)

then they got Herbert with a horror O-line, and then Stroud throwing 4-5 turnovers. Now thye get Denver with Stidham.

Two outcomes on Monday (new anniversary day tradition - 2 meaningful NFL games!) - either Payton is a master coach or Patriots stumble into a superbowl.

Broncos have done it with a shit QB before, but defences respected even a diminished Peyton. They won't respect Stidham - it could get ugly out there.

IT's a real pity as this has been an insanely good season for a neutral fan.

welcome to the new NCAA. Money talks. I think it'll be good longer term - prevent talent aggregation the way we've seen in the old Alabama days

He forgot to say of course that the schools in the SEC also have a shitload of money to pay players

The Steelers hire another Mike as HC

    https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/mike-mccarthy-hired-pittsburgh-steelers-coach-mike-tomlin/

His WL record is healthy, mainly based on his time in Green Bay. And I take his poor record with Dallas with a grain of salt because Jerry's team has been a dumpster fire for some time. But it's not a sexy hire

I dunno. The Steelers are generally a fantastically run organisation so bet against them at your peril, but McCarthy seems like accepting mediocrity.

Well, he's definitely not guna be there 20 years like the last guy.
Pittsburgh is his home town, for what it's worth.

Did he have a good relationship with Aaron Rodgers? IIRC they had their moments. Is Rodgers re-signed?
