                      They've winched her away to the air ambulance.

                      She is hanging in an bag underneath and not in the helicopter which suggests very bad news. It's what you do to get someone to hospital as quickly as possible apparently.

                            It don't come off for her today, but no criticism from me for Lindsey Vonn for thinking she could still compete with the best in the world.

                            As Teddy Roosevelt said, it's the man (or in this case the woman) in the arena who matters.

                                  She's had surgery on a fractured left leg so won't be competing again these Olympics. But in an otherwise stable condition.

                                      Are you tired after your attempt to scramble up some imaginary moral hill to plant a flag?

                                      As Teddy Roosevelt said, it's the man (or in this case the woman) in the arena who matters.

                                      You're off the mark here. Roosevelt’s point was about moral courage in the face of good-faith failure, not about suspending judgement when a decision is structurally unsound, as structurally unsound as her knee.

                                      One can respect Vonn’s competitive drive, her extraordinary career, and still criticise the decision to enter an elite downhill race with a known, major mechanical deficit. The sort of defect that's required to arrest take-off asymmetry in jumps leading to unwanted rotation in flight and the obvious misaligned landing because the skis weren't flat and aligned.

                                      Sad - yes. Predictable - yes. Criticisable - yes.

                                          Have watched the crash several times now its obvious it was caused by clipping a flag which spun her body side ways. Its debatable if the blown ACL was a factor or not, its likely was to some degree.
                                          But i think alot of people are reading the headlines and assuming her knee gave out which caused the crash. I know that was my first thought as well
