Don’t want to hear anyone try to tell me how good this comp is. Oh the tradition, oh the history, oh the pageantry.
Nowhere near the quality of the RC. Autumn Internationals much more interesting.
Luckily, the TV has an off switch….
Crikey I reckon.
The Six Nations is awesome and this is coming from a Scotland fan.
Any sporting occasion that has been going for that long is going to have people going on about the history of it all. That's sport.

Rome
Went to an AB game there, epic. Way better than any time I've been to twickers. Proper carnival atmosphere before and after, outside the stadium is fantastic.
But maybe I was influenced by being able to get a porchetta baguette from the van on the way in.
Did you wear jeans and brown shoes ?
I don't get it
One of @MN5 's better memes as it was actually a challenge...
You're getting me confused with @Bones

As an ex-pat kiwi who mainly follows SH rugby, the 6Ns has become a must watch for me. The quality of the play has improved hugely in the last decade.
Add in that it's a real competition with the winner more often than not decided on the last WE (unlike the RC) and it's an absolute highlight of the rugby year - without the angst of my team losing.
-
@Catogrande Didn’t say I wasn’t watching. Just don’t need to hear about how great it is when this year it clearly isn’t.

Based on what ?
Italy caused an upset in the first weekend, that's great for the tournament.
There's a bunch of huge games coming up, what is there not to like ?

Perhaps maybe not if you happen to be a Scot or Welsh supporter...I enjoyed both matches, albeit the Italian win more than the Welsh hammering

What a surprise

Not the 6N, but in the second tier competition Germany beat Romania 30-24.

It's only the first week, to be fair. But we've seen two cracking games and some outstanding tries up there with the best the RC offers.

@game_film said in Six Nations 2026:
@MN5 You seriously think that was an upset?
Considering I'm always serious on the fern, yes. Yes I do.
Any victory that Italy ever have in this tournament is an upset to some degree.
-
@game_film said in Six Nations 2026:
@MN5 I dunno, I had it the other way. Italy clearly an improving team, Scotland clearly not.
That is true, also one needs to take into account Scotland's amazing ability to fuck up and lose games exactly like this one.
But still, Scotland should have taken it.

Before the game I expect the vast majority of people would've expected Scotland to win against Italy, even in Italy, while acknowledging Italy were capable of a win.
-
@antipodean That’s fair. Guess I saw it differently. Back to back wins at home.

And this is the problem with the 6N.
Full houses, lots of money . . . but it is a closed shop.
While that's good for the teams in the show, the fact that the rest of the Euro teams are shutout of the party is not good for rugby as a whole.
Usual blinkered rugby thinking. While Eng/Fra will always be ok, the others, Wales/Sco/Italy, and even Ire, could easily be relegated at some point.
Especially Wales.Other Euro nations are forever improving.
If the likes of Spain or Germany ever got into the comp, with the resources they could muster . . . and the market potential . . . wow!
But nah, F'em, it's our party. -

Go and have a look at the past winners of the 6N and see the last time England won it
And when you find that, go back and find when they last won the Grand Slam
And don’t bother looking for Scotland or Italy
Improve your own tournament and stop trying to fix something which isn’t broken
