Clear yellow. Thought Elliot Dixon got better as the game went on. Ash Dixon and Proctor were bloody good too.

Even against this team I thought D Mackenzie got exposed a few times - he does some great things but also has a tendancy to get frazzled in his play and make a lot of errors - a long term AB he does not look.

Thought Akira looked a lot more focused than i'd seen in a long time and seemed to stay away from the niggle too.

@Stargazer The first 2 kicks West did at the start of the game went straight down the throat of a USA player. The same at the start of the 2nd half. Compare that to Lowe's kick's for distance, which almost always found space.

The chip-kick from West leadiing to Lowe's try was very nice though.

As to the game, the USA didn't offer a lot in the backs but spolied well in the 2nd half. I expect Munster and Harlequins will look to make those games a forward battle so that will be a better test of the Maori pack.

Everyone will most likely comment on Akira, however I thought Kara Pryor put in a good shift.
There was a noticeable drop in intensity when he was subbed, and the Maori turned over a fair bit of any decent ball they got in the 2nd half when the game loosened up.

            No.

USA were very underwhelming and the Maori AB's weren't much better for long stretches.

Proctor looked the goods although the combination in the midfield didn't really click.

Back row were robust and the US really didn't have an answer.

Weber a YC all day long.

A good win but not much of a contest.

Looks like everyone in NZ is kicking goals except bloody Barrett.

How ridiculous is the loosie depth at the moment, particularly 6 and 8? I reckon the only thing that can stop Ioane from being a superstar is himself.

Someone above mentioned Pryor. Yep seriously rate that dude. Would not be upset to see him in black.

I watched those highlights, and I thought what does Dixon have that Akira doesn't? Maybe Akira has to sort out the "character" side of things.

Barrett should spend a day getting kicking lessons from West.

JUst skimming through the game now, James Lowe was in front of West for the 3rd try, albeit by smallest of margin, but still in front.

@Whites72 disagree completely. The USA guy goes to take a quick tap and Weber clearly and deliberately knocks the ball away halfway through the action. They even replayed it close-up.

Yellow card all day long. How anyone could see anything other than Webber interfering with a quick tap is beyond belief.

@Pepe restarts have been like that for years now though (remember the days when everyone had to be behind, the hookers foot had to be behind the line haha) whereas they are usually still hot on the man in front for kicking out of hand.

I can actually remember when we taught to throw a pass backwards at such an angle to allow for the forward momentum..... and yes... the ball was leather and made by Adidas..

I have only seen the highlights but I can see why the ABs are interested in DMac despite his size an occasional mistake. He has that ability to think and execute in traffic that the likes of CJ and NMS have.
That try to Hames was entirely set up by DMac as if he drew it on a blackboard beforehand
