Knight and Day - Really enjoyed it. 
Typical role for Cruise - and he carries it off well. Thought there was nice chemistry between him and Diaz.

I just watched that last night and I quite enjoyed it as well. Cruise seemed like he playing up his bouncing on the couch effort. 
 
Also recently watched The Tourist which was ok, my love of Depp (in a completely non homosexual way) triumphed over my hatred of Angelina Jolie (also in a non homosexual way). Storyline was so-so and I figured out the plot in about 10 minutes, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Yeah - he plays the over-the-top spy character quite well. 
Haven't seen the Tourist yet but will. Like both Depp and Jolie.

I took mini-Mariner to Megamind over the holiday period. I thought it was excellent, i laughed a heap. Megamind's Brando "space dad" is funny as shit. Will Farrell was made to do voice-over work.

"love and other drugs", I enjoyed it. Both Jake and Anne were decent and it was funny at times... oh, and Anne is very nice to look! Parody of the American drug market running in the background was amusing and who wouldn't want to revisit the 90's!!? Didn't get a great rating at rotten tomatoes though.

Scott Pilgrim Vs the world: One of the zaniest films I have seen in a while and probably the first movie to successfully use the video game concept (unlike say, Tron). Love the special effects, music and off-beat humour. 
Knives Chau is the best character, especially her surprised face <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />.

Inception: After hearing all the hype I watched this highly regarded film. Very good but not as mind-blowing as I expected it to be. The ending does leave you puzzled to some extent however. 
 
7.5/10, actually maybe, 8/10.

Four Lions: This movie was bloody funny - for anyone who doesn't know it's about 4 Muslim jihadists from the UK (one white guy) and their attempts to blow themselves and other people up. Due to the subject matter it does stray into black comedy in parts but has some of the funniest laugh out loud comedy that I have seen. 9/10. 
 
Salt: After finding Angelina not as annoying as usual in the Tourist I decided to watch Salt. Was presently surprised, was an ok movie, which could have been better with a longer running time and without the obvious sequel set up. 7/10.

I went (at the request of Mrs CF) in with no expectations and got a light but enjoyable film. Depp is Depp and Ang was smoking hot. Even though it didn't really scratch far below the surface it was a bit of gentle escapism

Just saw the Fighter and it'd be the best boxing movie I've ever seen. Christan Bale is brilliant. It's a must see at the movies imo

Watched the [I]Pusher [/I]trilogy. Very good and very entertaining Danish crime films. Recommended.

If someone has seen the latest "Wall St" movie, can they tell me what its about? I don't think it had a plot, other than "bankers are baaaaaad" "and "people don't change, but then sometimes they do" 
 
Took mini-mariner to "Yogi Bear" yesterday. Its terrible, but the kids loved it. I forgive him though, he's 2.

I really like Wall St 2 but I'm a bit of a lone island on that one. 
 
Could have done without the last scene though if you ask me. That really let the film down.

Watched Prince Of Persia yesterday . Fairly predictable but still bloody enjoyable , will watch it again . 7 out of 10 .

The Missus dragged me along to Black Swan last night. Maybe I'm just too stoopid or uncouth to appreciate it but the movie left me pretty cold. The director did that wrestler film starring Micky Rourke I believe which I really enjoyed, so its not like I hate the guy's stuff but IMHO it was all style, slow plot dross. It would appear from all of the fawning from movie critics that I am in the minority over this one.

The Wrestler was shit. Really poorly written, crappy 16 mm, dull shit. Terrible movie that can't hold a candle to european social realism films. Just shit. 
 
Portman is a poor actress and I doubt the movie is much chop. Check out some vintage Polanski instead ...

Been on a bit of an Oscar/Golden Globe nominee watching fest. So far I have recently seen (in order of my favorite to least)

The King's Speech
The Fighter

Black Swan

I really enjoyed The King's Speech and The Fighter. Both bloody good films, and Colin Firth and Christian Bale were amazing in them respectively. Also, True Grit's rating might be a bit low. I was pretty tired while watching, and fell asleep.

Due Date - solid funny film, has a bit of a flat spot in it, but overall, I liked it, 7.5/10 
The Tourist - was ok, Jolie didnt need to do much other than strut around looking glamorous and speak now and again, Depp carried it a bit too (alot of Jack Sparrow comes through in this character too IMO) 6.5/10 
Love & Other Drugs - was not quite what I expected, but pretty good, both leads are very good, also really like Oliver platt as an actor 7.5/10 
Bit of a Funny Story - with the guy from Hangover and Due date; again, not as I expected, more a feelgood movie with a few funny bits, as opposed to a comedy (as described) 7/10

I was disappointed by The Wrestler, because Requiem for a Dream (which he also directed) was so good. As someone who used to watch a little WWF growing up, it more or less hammered home what a ridiculous carnie industry pro wrestling is... but not much else. 
 
But Black Swan is pretentious melodrama at its best. Thoroughly deserved Oscar coming Natalie Portman's way. Been in some shitty films, most definitely, but I rate her.

Portman was great in Black Swan. I thought the movie was pretty boring but Portman cetainly had a standout performance. 
 
I thought Love and Other Drugs was absolute crap. Even the missus hated it. 
 
The Fighter is great as are The King's Speech and The Social Network. 
 
Am yet to see 127 Hours. Will probably see it in the next few weeks.
