It's okay. The cellar is a nice one. I like the master bedroom, and the lounge. Not a fan of the kitchen, and i don't understand the atrium, seems like a poor use of space (build a bigger kitchen!)
I like the external look though.
And agree with Baron, it's too far from the beach to be a dream house on the Coromandel
And if you are having an ad on Stuff, why wouldn't the article link to the Real Estate page?

as long as you can stand on the front lawn and smash golf balls with only a small risk of hitting a house then it's all good, and that one looks good for that.

Until the 1950's properties right on the beach were discounted because you needed to be compensated for the distress of viewing all the unseemly flesh on display
Also although summers at the bach have become an iconic part of kiwi subconscious, fewer than 3% of kiwi's families have owned a bach and only 10% of the population ever had access to a family bach as they grew up.
Pretty sure the number with access to a helicopter would be even lower

That is not true. Beachfront properties at the Mount and Whangamata were always the most prestigous... and costly. I great grandmother bought the first section at Whangamata, quite an interesting story , that I wont bore you with.

Look at old photos of both locations.All the initial dwellings? Beachfront. Is that anecdotal? All the original camp sites? Beachfront. Is that anecdotal? First street sold for holiday hpmes in Whanga... right on the beach. Maybe you could provide more proof of your claim with context? Because your claim is only anecdotal as well at this stage...is it not?

I suppose they put a tennis court on the prime inland site? And sold the 'crappy' beachfront sections to the poor people in the 20's?

Although it was a favourite spot for picnics and outings for the Tauranga settlers, permanent settlement of the area started slowly with people from Tauranga and Rotorua buying land and building holiday baches near the foot of Mauao on the sandhills. Many of these people later became residents."
They could have chosen anywhere... but they chose the sand hills.... on the beach...

@NTA I secretly love it of course, and people actually smile at me and let me into queues when I drive it. They don't do that when I am in the RS4, funny that...The hilux also looks like the end result of the Top gear guys trying to destroy one, and failing. Only 180,000k's as well, so hopefully get another 300,000 out of it like my Hilux surf.
