@Crucial haha yeah for sure.
not a patch on the oldies though...this one is almost prophetic (is that a real word?)
Would be funny if they made that ad now with some brown fat kids just to read the Stuff comments boards afterwards

Someone (maybe @Nepia ) earlier mentioned "The Man in the High Castle". 5 episodes in now and I'm finding it really good. I hope it has an actual end at some point though, unlike the book.
Second Series is about to start in a couple of weeks. S1 doesn't have an ending as such but it does lead to some satisfaction of sorts. S2 looks promising from the trailer.
I haven't read the book but I am guessing it has been used more as a start point for the series rather than the complete guide.
I agree that it needs to be a planned out thing and hope it doesn't fall into the 'Lost trap' of making shit up as it goes along to prolong it -

@Crucial Whoever thought it would be a good look to have obese kids as the figureheads of a marketing campaign for fast food?
Probably a fat bastard who modelled Hugo and the sister on his own kids.

For Gilmore Girls? I don't have words.
Just watching a few minutes the other day brought back some horrible supressed memories. Like that French guy. Fark me I want to kill him and his creator.
One of the extra digital channels over here seems to play nothing but - I seem to remember flicking through channels multiple times and those two smarmy bitches and their smary fuck friends making smarmy fucking comments... its nothing but that!
I don't get why its so successful - chicks HATE smarmy bitches. Its not escapism.
We've now got a channel over her that is SOLELY dedicated to that "reality" shit. I kid you not. Hour after hour of completely vacuous shite.
In answer to your next question, no I do not know what it is like, I have never allowed it on the TV.
I am just getting into Stranger Things. Not sure about it yet but there's enough there to make me persevere.
I didn't much care for it.

@Tim Yeah there are a few things that grate with me. Too much of the cute kids stuff and Winona is just too screechy. I think I'll hang on though and see where it takes me.
Also given that we know the younger Winona had a good pair on her and that this show has no chance of a topless scene, you don't have that possibility to look forward to.
(it's is near obligatory to talk about funbags in this thread and they have been rather rare lately)

@antipodean See what I mean. That is just pure teasing. If you know those aren't coming out for fresh air then why bother watching?
-
More teasing.
I've always liked Winona.

@JC I liked man in the high castle, looking forward to series 2 to see where it goes.
TWD, can't see the point of latest ep, time filler....I guess just to not put the saviors on every week cos that'd suck too....
Had to wait until after farking Gilmore Girls (which was apparently the musical episode that even that wife said sucked) but eventually caught up with TWD last night.
Yeah it was a bit of waste. That Lezzo is bloody annoying as well. A whole episode focussing on her was a bit much. But what I guess they're doing is introducing us to the different communities that will ultimately unite to take on the saviours.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel yeah I guess that's why they talked about their interaction with the Saviours and let that chick sit on that knowledge until the time was right for everyone to deal to the Saviours.
I expect they will need another couple more 'communities' to have a decent army to take on Negans.
Be good to have a bit of geographical knowledge of where they all are, as you have to assume it is a matter of miles given people walk places, however with the fact they aren't aware of each other and don't cross paths, you'd be thinking more like 20-30 miles....
Oh well, Westworld tonight

Jesus, i need to stay off this thread, i hope to one day actually watch the Walking Dead.
Anyway, i am currently battling my way through Season 2 of Mr Robot. Now the first season was some seriously great TV, a real interesting premise.
But this 2nd season is fucking hard work. It's like they've tried real hard to up the "dark" side of it. And I've just got to the point where
:::
the whole first 7 fucking episodes were a sham, he's been in prison the whole time? fuck you fluffybunnies, that's not a plot twist, or a mindfuck, it's a giant 'fuck you!"
:::
I will stick it out, because I've come this far, but it doesn't have me riveted, and i don't feel compelled to watch a shit load every night. But this better be fucking going somewhere.
2nd Season syndrome is very real
I've just finished the 2nd season. Nowhere near as good as the first. I found it largely pretty confusing and wasn't really sure where it was going. And I'm still not totally sure, the final episode didn't answer a whole lot of questions.
-
Just started American Horror Story. Pretty cool so far, though I see it has 4 seasons and I'm not really sure how they'd keep this story going for that long. Anyone else watched it?
-
@No-Quarter yeah I think @MN5 has watched them all..I watched about half of S1 and drifted onto something else, more a timing thing with something else I wanted to watch I just haven't gotten back yet.
-
@No-Quarter fuck it. I've tossed it and started Westworld instead

Series were a bit of a mixed bag. Some pretty compelling, some just fucken stupid. Overall pretty entertaining though.
