Finished S2 of The Man in the High Castle.

First half was a bit slow and also as they added more scenes from the Japanese Trade Minister 'dreaming' you learn a bit more.

2nd half picked up and was pretty good again.

Finished Narcos - good series, although given it follows Pablo, as he nears his inevitable end (sorry bout the spoiler) you almost start to feel sorry for him, how the mighty had fallen, then he goes and does something and you think, nope arrogant fluffybunny!

I see why they named it Narcos now, rather than anything to do with Pablo, as it leaves them open for another series.

I just got around to finishing Narcos S2 and am now looking forward to the next series of it. It's also been a good starting point to do some reading about what actually happened.

Also, I can't believe Steve was in Colombia all that time and still couldn't speak Spanish.

    Spoiler below

    P
    O
    I
    L
    E
    R

I can't believe how they messed up the characterisation of Limon in the scene where he shots the girl. In that scene they portrayed him as a crazed whack-a-do, yet in every other scene at the same time period he's his usual self. That was just weird and didn't really advance any part of the story.

For those of you with kids, check out Trollhunters. Great cartoon series from Netflix. The kids will love it and it's not bad from an adults POV.

Is anyone watching the MMA series Kingdom? I'm quite enjoying it and every character is actually a bit of a prick at times.

Wasn't overly impressed with the last series of Sherlock. The show just seemed to become a parody of itself and way too gimmicky.

I do think it created one of the best TV villians ever in its version of Moriaty though and a spinoff show for Mrs Hudson has potential.

Yeah, that ending almost seemed like I was watching a Pegg/Frost creation, overall rather enjoyable though.

Yeah, there is certainly worse crap on TV but this was a show I used to really look forward to each episode and became one I'd catch up on.

Watched Episodes 1 & 2 on Sunday... and it felt like there was a jarring difference between the two. But then I thought... that's probably a good thing, it's not as formulaic as most TV stuff.
Then Episode 3 last night... I seem to recall being quite drawn in for the first 30 minutes maybe?... a few WTF moments...
but then it devolved into a checklist of all the stuff that needs to happen in a Sherlock episode: "Moriarty being a camp nutter, check. Moriarty with creepy over-acting, check. Sherlock figuring something out inside his head but with hand-movements and figures visible to the viewer, check. Watson being just a generally nice/moral guy, check. Sherlock having an emotional revelation, check."

For fans of Stranger Things, Sean Astin and Paul Reiser have been cast in S2.

Also saw this too - Stranger Things meets Star Wars. 😁

while there is not much in the posts above about Sherlock, best to ensure you note any spoilers...

I have only watch 1.5eps, is a bit meh, 2nd ep in particular is odd so far.

Given the time between series, you expect the standard to be so high.

Have just been working my way through Seinfeld again. Even funnier now I'm in that same mid-30's age range that the characters are.

Of the two main characters in the two shows being promoted for the new season - Bull and MacGyver which one has the more punchable face?
They both seem more punchable than the reigning champ the Mentalist

I can't work out how to search the 4000 posts in this thread, but has anyone on here watched all the seasons of the UK TV series Skins? I'm just about at the end of the 2nd season and have enjoyed it so far, but reading online it says that they replace basically all of the regular characters with new ones for the 3rd and subsequent seasons.

Kinda sounds like a recipe for disaster for me, so was wondering if any of the Ferners had seen the 3rd-7th series and could give advice on whether it's worth carrying on?

I watched all of the first change episodes (3 - 4) but I think they changed again for 5 to 7 which I didn't watch. The first change episodes were pretty good.

First 2 seasons were my favourite. But I still enjoyed the later seasons also. Definitely worth sticking with it

I've finally got round to watching season one of The Fall and thought it was bloody good. I've heard that season two isn't much cop, nothing much happens just the two antagonists mumbling all the time. Can anyone advise please?

Very late to the party, but am hammering through Peepshow at the moment. Those guys are absolutely brilliant.

Got through Last Chance U as well. Really good. Can't wait for series 2.

I found Last Chance U to be a tough watch. Really brings home the culture and the desperation involved in making it in professional sports in the US. The head coach needs professional help.

The worst part was the teachers literally bending over backwards to give the kids the marks they needed to stay in the team. While the kids refused to put in any effort what so ever.

I never could get a good read on the guidance counselor. I wanted to believe she was someone who genuinely cared about the boys, but part of me couldn't help but think she cares more about the team winning, and once they have left, she just moved on to the next batch.
