SS1 doesn't have any live sport on this afternoon so I'm not sure of the rationale - we obviously don't pay extra for a pop-up channel. Note that live softball is also on a pop-up channel today.
I get the impression that Sky treats FanPass customers as an afterthought and deliberately do this to try and get us to buy the full package.
At $56 a month it isn't exactly cheap - though admittedly it does give real flexibility to turn it on and off whenever one likes. I am pissed because I let it roll over for another month the other day purely so I could watch the 10's. Otherwise I would have waited until the first ODI of the Proteas tour to turn it back on and saved about 2 weeks of use.

This is like shit sevens. Good for a run in the legs and, given the heat, cooking blokes. Good for fuck all else. Tournament a one-and-done?
-
The weather conditions must be insane. The crowd is staying away from the seats in the sun and everyone who turned up is sitting in the shade. And the players are expected to perform in this heat?
-
@mariner4life I remember playing 10s as a schoolboy so was curious. I watched the Chiefs game and I'll check out the Blues game. But that will be it for the day.
All I hope is for no injuries. Weber went off in the first game.

BLues looking disorganised

Sky has a pop-up channel for the event.
More info:
LIVE on Sport Pop-Up 57 from 2.30pm this SaturdayI know - I read that and referred to it in my post. Channel 57 doesn't exist on my sky box though. Jumps from 056 to 060.
Is anyone getting it on 57? Maybe I need a reboot
-
so Rangers was classed high, but Tongan Thors not?

@Bovidae said in Brisbane Global 10s:
@nzzp Yes, Blues playing the Reds now. Perhaps you need to be a subscriber to the Rugby Channel as Ch 57 is listed as a Rugby pop-up channel on the graphic?
OK, cheers
Anyone getting it who isn't a Rugby channel subscriber? I'm assuming not
'tis a bit weird as I usually see channels even if I can't access them. Will try rebooting and see what happens

75m try for the BLues via Declan O'Donnel after Ranger has a simple draw and pass to set him free

poor defence read by Ranger lets Reds score 80m try
