Oh that's ugly for Graham. No wonder he's on the green whistle.

Two needless injuries for the Chiefs.

Hey, it will be primo if we win this and lost half the 15 aside squad.

Arguably our best halfback looks nigh-nighs for the season and now Graham.

Please don't let Laulala on the field if he is in this tens squad

Gutted for Weber and Graham. Chiefs seem to have the worst pre-season luck over the last few years.

Fun final otherwise. Saders have some great defence, Chiefs with some great attack and work at the breakdown. Think I'd prefer a Super Sevens tourney though, as it'd be less physical than this.

Bad news for Weber. Good news for the Chiefs. Weber can't pass for shit.

Not as shit as his passing was.

That young halfback for the Chiefs (from Counties I think) looks v handy.

That was entertaining, there is something about the format that works, still decent breakdown play and covering defense, but plenty of gaps.

    Lauaki would have been huge.

So not worth it. This is a Mickey Mouse pre season Jimmy.

    Meant nothing

    The cost of the weekend:
Serious injuries to Fifita, Weber and Graham (don't know about non-Kiwi players).
And unknown, less serious injuries to other players. I remember Bateman going off with a back injury, but there were more.

Obviously, these injuries could also have occurred during training and "normal" preseason games, so it's unrealistic to blame the tournament format. I just don't think playing under the hot circumstances is a good idea. Normal preseason games are usually played in the evening when it's cooler.

TBF, the Chiefs could have lost those same players in the mickey mouse trial matches that are on at the moment now.

I didn't think I'd enjoy it but I quite liked watching todays matches. A Chiefs win over the Crusaders and a Canerbry hissy fit is always a good thing. I actually liked watching some of the fatties playing an expansive game.

The poor condition of the pitch contributed to Weber's injury. Graham's was just a freak accident that could have happened in any game.

Oh my!! I haven't read how long he is out for.

I assume it was near the Knee? Man that bone is tough as teak to break.

Brad Weber: Fractured femur (thigh bone) which required surgery. Estimated recovery is a minimum of 6 months.

Mitchell Graham: Fractured tibia and fibula requiring surgery. Estimated recovery is a minimum of 6 months.

Fin Hoeata: Ligament damage to ankle which required surgery. Estimated return to play is 2-3 months.

Isaac Boss might get a call up to the Chiefs.

    @Wurzel Err...no. We're not that desperate.

Jonathan Taumateine or Pele Cowley might be options at HB. Heaps of pressure on TKB now to stay fit as the only experienced player in the position.

For prop, no idea. Fisi’ihoi will be the bench LH now.

Taumateine would be my choice. Has immense upside, as the pundits say.
