'It's a girl's name, let's face it': An unimpressed Sir Bob Geldof begs Peaches to change his grandson's name

Peaches gave birth to her first child last week and named the little boy Astala Dylan Willow Cohen-Geldof- a name both herself and her fiance Thomas Cohen had picked out before he was even born.

    Oh really?

Cant figure out how to bold my edit so you'll have to concentrate.

Good luck with that around here. Some very short attention spans.

Debonaire is indeed a perfect stripper name.
"Hi guys, I'm Metallica Debonaire and if I could just get a volunteer...yes you, the Mariner, if you could just put this in your mouth and..."

"looks at minder, "is the wax melted yet?"

Didn't know metallica was a girl , Evanescence is the obvious choice for a little bogan girl I would have thought if you were going for a band name.

@jegga Can't see how Sir Bob would have the balls to criticise ANYONE on kid names after what he inflicted on his own daughters.

Or,possibly, has realised the error of his ways...

Jesus is the ticket, IMO - seems to be all the rage in Spanish-speaking countries.

I can't remember if I've posted this in the past but a few years back there was a guy who was quite high up in the mongrel mob called James MMM Ford. He'd changed his name by deed poll to make his last name ford and his middle name MMM to stand for "Mighty Mongrel Mob".

He also named all his kids after typed of Ford cars, so he had a daughter called Cortina, a few other stupid but I guess passable names for kids who have gang member parents, and then his last kid was called, wait for it...

[Police are trying to find a 21-year-old man with gang connections who may be in Wellington.

Customline Ford has a warrant for his arrest for breaching court-imposed bail conditions.

Detective Tracey Calder, of Wairarapa, said Ford faced several charges including burglary, theft from a motor vehicle and receiving.

"We believe Ford is in the Wairarapa or Wellington areas and would like to speak to anyone who may know his whereabouts."](http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/crime/4401941/Police-seek-man-named-Customline-Ford)

The kid had a gang patch by the time he was about 15. Unsurprisingly, he never went on to become a doctor

This was probably the favourite one I came across in my time in the job though...

    http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/crime/285857/Megatron-transformed-into-drugs-criminal

"His lawyer, Val Nisbet, said that, in 2001, his client – then called Nicholas – had been a normal university student in Auckland when he had an accident and suffered a serious head injury. After that he changed, began using drugs and later changed his name by deed poll to Megatron."

Mrs AWL wouldn't even let me name our cat Megatron, let alone let me change my name to it...

Update in the thread no one cares about.
Exciting news, my daughter is friends with Metallica.
Apparently she's pretty normal, and ironically enough likes to singe Justin Bieber songs.. go figure

@Virgil Surely Torana Holden's mum's name can only be one of a few things.
Gemini Holden, Calais Holden, Caprice Holden. Sunbird maybe?

I reckon One tonner would be good, depending on her build. Statesman, commodore, crewman and Jackaroo seem more like blokes names and they never made a Jillaroo which is quite sexist in these gender sensitive times.

I also like the idea of a Drover Holden...

Hope that helps find young Torana's mum. A read through the Parakai phone book must be hilarious. I trust that Metallica is doing O.K?

Seems to be a growing number of bogan names appearing in our community these days. The mrs mentioned there's a kid in our girls ballet class called Rainbow.
As far as I know Metallica is doing ok, my oldest plays with her at school ( how many get to say their kid hangs out with Metallica..)

There is also the Australian option of 'Brockies Holden' and Monaro.

Don't forget you drive your Mon-ah-row on the Mon-air-row highway and never confuse the two.

There was that story on the news a while back, a young teen might have been killed in a car crash, in trouble with the law??? Can't recall but what came to light was he had about 4 or 5 siblings, all had car names.
Pretty sure it was in the Waikato somewhere

@booboo why the hell do parents try and be creative with names? For fuck sakes, the only time a name has any importance is when it's a fucking stupid name and then it hurts the kid. You can't give a name that will give your child an edge, so just stick to something sensible and give them a chance.

Because some parents are simply fuckwits
They thing because their favourite celeb can name their kids looney names they can do the same.
They forget all those celebs and their kids live in a bubble shared with other stupidly named kids. For them if your kid has a normal name you can't be famous enough.
