Having had breakfast with Jerome Kaino , Liam Squire , Joe Moody and Damien MacKenzie I can confirm that comparison is correct.

Have you had breakfast with Tom Cruise?

    A gentleman never tells...

    🤔

So back to the question: Tom Cruise @jegga - breakfast or what?

From A Wanted Man: "He was one of the largest men she had ever seen outside the NFL. He was extremely tall, and extremely broad, and long-armed, and long-legged. The lawn chair was regular size, but it looked tiny under him. It was bent and crushed out of shape. His knuckles were nearly touching the ground. His neck was thick and his hands were the size of dinner plates...A wild man. But not really. Underneath everything else seemed strangely civilized....His gaze was both wise and appealing, both friendly and bleak, both frank and utterly cynical." [41]

Reacher is described as being 6 feet 5 inches (1.96 m) tall, weighing 210–250 pounds (95–113 kg) and having a 50-inch (130 cm) chest;.[8][10] In Never Go Back, he was described as having "a six-pack like a cobbled city street, a chest like a suit of NFL armor, biceps like basketballs, and subcutaneous fat like a Kleenex tissue."

Basically he is Kaino sized whereas Cruise is smaller than DMac

    'Knuckles nearly touching the ground.....'

Sounds more like this guy to me....

Finally got around to watching Star Wars The Force Awakens.

LOVED Rey. Loved Han and Chewie still being cunning, funny reprobates after all the years. Awesome. Also really liked Finn and Poe.

Would have liked more about Leia, how she went from princess to General, also more than two lines of dialogue about what happened with her and Han and their kid. No idea why Mark Hamill had a top billing in this considering he didn't say a word and was on screen for like 30 seconds.

The story was a little disjointed in places (I'm intrigued how the force is so strong in Rey and did not like it when Han was killed by fuckface) but the special effects were good.

Only thing that didn't work at all for me was Kylo Ren. He always came across as a caricature of evil. Wasn't quite so bad when he had the mask on, but as soon as he took it off, he went douchebag. Odd casting choice, in that physically be looked nothing like Han or Leia. And his worship of Darth's munted mask was also odd, considering Anakin went back to the light before he died.

3.5 Rey flying the Millennium Falcons out of 5 the Jedi stories are real.

After recently watching Antoine Fuqua's remake of "The Magnificent Seven" I decided to revisit the original 1960 film. That led to me watching:

    Seven Samurai (1954)
I'd never seen this movie before but Akira Kurosawa's masterpiece was used to adapt this classic tale into the abovementioned Western. Firstly, this is a long movie at 207 mins and is B&W with English sub-titles, but that running time is one of its charms as the characters and plot can be developed. You won't find all the fast-paced action we expect from modern-day films but I could appreciate what a ground-breaking film this would have been at the time. I don't think I would bother watching the movie again though.

Apparently the name Reacher came from when he was in a supermarket and someone asked him to reach a product on a high shelf, or something, and his wife said he could be a "reacher" in a supermarket if his writing career falls over. There's my fun fact for the day.

At least it wasn't because he was good at reaching around

    Spectre.

This started off promisingly, but the last quarter was lame. After some of the super villains that have turned up in Casino Royale and Skyfall etc, this one was tepid as fuck - and supposed to be the king villain of them all. Whatever. And the whole link to Bond's childhood was lame, too. I dunno. It just seemed that with all that mega technology they had, the Spectre people seemed to do jack shit with it in terms of terror - that bombing they did in South Africa to get them to sign up to the Nine Eyes thing was a flicker in the background when it could have been so much more. The head of the British Intelligence Max was a paper thin villain. Also, what happened to Monica B's character after all that? Liked M and Q.

Meh. The action scenes, especially in Mexico were great, but the story was average and true menace non existent. Wonder if they will wind down the franchise now. Casino Royale was such a wonderful refresh of it, but it would take something spectacular now, and I think Daniel Craig has had enough.

@mariner4life Have you seen Siodmak's/Hemingway's The Killers? It was an influence to say the least ...

Don Siegel's version likewise. Highlight is Ronald Reagan slapping the hell out of Angie Dickinson.

    Sorry @Tim i have not

But watching again tonight, it's a piece of art. The shots are brilliant, the dialogue unique, the soundtrack perfect.

Given the cinematic climate these days will we ser it's like again?
