    Beauty and the Beast

Let's get this out of the way: as far as musical score goes, this one is a contender, and not just because of its Disney roots. I'm told they stayed reasonably faithful to the original songs, and the presentation is delightful.

Emma Watson is feisty hot. The dude from Downton as the Beast is also quite good, along with the CGI required to manage all that.

Luke Evans is excellent as an arrogant Gaston, and Josh Gad as Le Fou nearly steals the show. Perfect combination there, and had the adults laughing at a bit of the camp humour.

Supporting roles are excellent, CGI again is great.

Couple of moments that could have been thrown aside like the washing machine/learn to read piece, which might have saved a bit of time.

Otherwise: Great music, casting, CGI, cinematography. All round bloody good film.

5 out of 5 enchanted candelabras

I'm about to go see that in an hour or so. Date night... yay.

@taniwharugby I expect Wonder Woman to be pretty good and then the Justice League to retreat back to Snyder levels ... that trailer seems to suggest I'm going to be correct.

Also, the CGI on Cyborg looks completely unrealistic.

@jegga That looks batshit crazy. It could turn out awesome ... or not.

@jegga seen a couple of trailers for that, and it looks like it will be amusing...

DC dont have a clue, they have pretty much fucked up every movie to date.
Completely going about it wrong compared to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (where they introduce all the Avengers over the course of a couple movies each, so that by the time they team up we are excited to see them come together)
Instead DC start off with Batman v Superman v Wonder woman (it sucked), through a few together in the Suicide Squad (really sucked)
Now its this, in all likely hood a sucky McSuck fest.

CGI is not finished, as it often isn't in trailers. There is a good comparison out there with the Guardians trailer and the finished special effects.

I thought the trailer was good, no plot spoilers and the addition of humour that he gets criticised for not having in these movies.

This and the Wonder Woman movie are looking pretty good.

They'll need to do a bunch of work on that CGI before release ....

Didn't see anything in that trailer that suggests Hack Snyder isn't going to mess this one, the added humour was likely Batffleck himself, the rest looks like typical Snyder DC.

I will agree with you that Wonder Woman looks great.

@Nepia it'll look as good as ironman by the time it's done, the one thing Synder cannot be criticised for is how his movies look.

I know I'm in the minority, but I like his films. He does something that looks different to anybody else, and if he was allowed to release the longer cut of BvS that movie would have been better received.

All good for you to like his movies, I still think 300 is a great movie. But, I doubt I could sit through a longer cut of BvS, I think a shorter cut could have improved it ... unless all the extra scenes were of Wonder Woman.

Lego Batman - Fun, not as good as the Lego Movie though. Robin was a crack up. 6.9 bricks out of 10.

Life - Basically a mash up of Alien, Gravity and the Martian ('realistic' tech like in the latter two movies). Somewhat predictable but still a watchable movie. 6.5 Single Cell Organisms out of 10.

It's worth it, the bits they took out were vital to understanding the plot. Takes away all the head scratching moments, and explains how Lex manipulated everything. It was massive mistake cutting the film.

That said, Lex is horribly miscast, no cut fixes that.

Yeah I'll have to take your word for it as I don't think it's a movie I will revisit anytime soon.

    Beverly Hills Cop.

Wife was away, and I love this genre of movies, so cracked open a bag of bluebirds finest with a cheeky scotch and settled. It's still fucking funny. I still laugh at the out and out 80's ness of it - right from the suits to the lines to the cheesy sountrack. Favourite part is still the way Axel Foley cracks up when he's walking down the street in Beverly Hills and starts laughing at the people in the red and black latex suits.

5 Ramones who went to the clinic out of 5 crappy blue chevy nova's.

It's worth it just for the best batman fight ever put on film, that warehouse scene. First time a movie has captured the action as it would be in the comic.

Number two is a surprisingly decent follow up too.

Eddie's finest movie is still Trading Places though.

Patriot's Day. Thought it was brilliantly done. although the tension helped watching it with her indoors who had no clue around any of the details. Right down to it turning into a short documentary at the end of the film. Well worth a watch.

5 leaked suspect photos out of 5....something else.
