Re-watched an oldie on the weekend, Southern Comfort.

Probably late 80s early 90's, set in the Louisiana swamps where some National Guard are on a training exercise end up pissing off some Cajuns who end up hunting them.

3 dead National Guards out of 5 swamp rat Cajuns

I remember watching that in the mid 80s (someones older brother had rented it) and being freaked out by it. I think it's from the early 80s.

@Nepia yeah I remember thinking it was pretty scary back then too...not so much now, but a decent watch still, fairly simple movie that doesn't rely on effects or anything, so stands up well given it was made in 1981!! (just checked)

@taniwharugby Walter Hill is the director. If you've seen The Warriors, it has the same sort of atmosphere.

Lego Batman. Funny and fun, but not as good as the Lego Movie

I watched this, and while it wasn't quite what I was expecting, it was ok, but £7 from a single ticket sale...plus, when I was in the UK in early 00's, a ticket was more than £7 too!

A couple of lines amused me....

Once a bankable box office topper in Hollywood blockbusters like Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

When was that movie a blockbuster, it doesn't deserve to have Indiana Jones at the start.

the star has earned more attention for his off-set shenanigans than his work in recent years, including a recent scuffle that saw him arrested for assaulting a Nazi sympathiser at his anti-Trump art installation in New York City.

Don't see the issue with beating down on a Nazi! 😉

@taniwharugby I think that $780m at the box office still rates as blockbuster even if Indiana Jones fans weren't happy with the quality of the film .

@Nepia nah, it sucked, no blockbuster, never in a million years!

Way to ruin a perfectly good point I made!

Haha sorry man. I haven't seen it, TBH, I've never been a big Indiana Jones fan - he's no Han Solo. 😉

Shia le bouef occupies a rung in my famous person life lower than Brad Haddin and keen followers of my insightful cricket posts will know that's the lowest of the low. How THE FUCK this shitcunt ever got a film role is beyond me. You look at blokes like Hugh Jackman, Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Leonardo DiCaprio etc and can see they're pretty cool dudes, superb actors and obviously appealing to the ladies. Shia le whatshisname has NONE of these qualities whatsoever. He's just a talentless fluffybunny in my eyes. Indy 4 might have been ok if a different guy has that role.

His name is also the stupidist handle in Hollywood history.

What does he offer a movie?

If doing it means punching him repeatedly I'll happily step up

@MN5 Maybe you can blame Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. The first I had heard of him was in the doco Project Greenlight.

Ben Affleck is in his league too. Matt Damon has done some good stuff though.

@MN5 I was never really a fan of Affleck, but he's done some good stuff recently (acting wise)

Was never really a fan of Di Caprio until he did Departed and Blood Diamond.

I remember when LeBeouf was headlining Transformer movies a big media focus was on how grounded he was and how finally there was a child star who turned out so well adjusted. Well... things took a turn really quickly.

Speaking of Affleck. Just watched Batman vs Superman. Good Christ what a pile of shit. Actually Affleck wasn't that bad, but all he really had to do was look pissed off the entire time. Wonder Woman was smoking though. Fark Israeli women are hot.

The main fight was utter crap. Oh your mother has the same name. Well I'm not gonna kill you now after you inexplicitly lost your speed and I was able to get a shot of Kryptonite off in your face.

Btw why didn't Superman just torture the shit out of Luther until he got his henchmen to reveal the mothers location?

I assume a fair bit was cut out, because alot of things really didn't make sense.

The internet tells me that the Israeli army is entirely populated by hot chicks in bikinis.

No wonder everyone wants a piece of them.
