Finished S2 of Fargo last night, really good series, some really funny (darkly) shit in it!
Had to google to find out why they have the true story bit at the start...

I binge watched the entire season of Thirteen Reasons Why.
I'm not a fan of YA stuff, but this was really quite gripping. Had its sweet moments, awkward moments, nasty as fuck moments, and represented the different types of high schoolers without turning them into dumb stereotypes. And there was really good characterisation too, everyone, even the hero and heroine had their dark or dumb moments, losers had victories and vice versa. Yes, there is some graphic stuff including rape and violence, and the producers don't back away at all from the whole suicide storyline - how it impacts friends, family, the hurt and anger and despair. And the last episode, holy fuck. It shows the suicide fully (wrist slitting in bathtub) and the parents finding her. I ugly cried.

I watched the ESPN 30 for 30 doco on John Calipari tonight. Great insight into the mind and philosophies of one of the more polarizing coaches in the college basketball game. What you can't argue is his influence on the NBA when you look at the number of his players that got drafted and played in the NBA, 39 to date

House of Cards. Addicted. Great stuff.

Finally got around to watching the last 3 episodes of Westworld.
Fucking. Cool. Enjoyed the whole series, be interesting to see where the 2nd season goes.
Smashed this out over the last week or so. Fucking excellent all round, thoroughly enjoyed it, the plot twists in the final three episodes were great.
I do wonder if the 2nd season will measure up though, kind of like Mr Robot now that the more complex stuff has been largely explained it may lose a bit of its mystery.

The Bridge, season 3. Great stuff. Selvfølgelig.

Into The Badlands S1
Some kind of post apocolytic type world where the badlands are run by Barons and a chick called The Widow, and pretty much everyone is a martial arts master, but there are those with a little extra....has that mystical element of some Kung fu movies. Decent watch, some great fight scenes.
S2 is almost finished airing, but not watched yet.
-
@taniwharugby I watched S1 of Into The Badlands early last year and enjoyed it. I will start S2 shortly.
I have mentioned this previously, is anyone else watching The Expanse? This is a Sci-fi series adapted from books, and similar in tone to BSG. It's on The Zone but I watch these shows by other means.
You also get to watch a US TV show with a main character speaking in their normal Kiwi accent.

@Bovidae I watched S1 of the Expanse, which was pretty good, not sure why I never bothered with the other seasons, might need to get them.
There is only two seasons so far isn't there? I'm about to jump into the second, they have done a great job adapting the books.

@Kirwan ah yes, I just checked IMDB and S1 straddled 2015/2016 so looked like more than 1 season, S2 started beginning of Feb.
Season 3 just got greenlighted too.
-
@taniwharugby you enjoyed it? huh...
I watched the first couple and thought "wow, this is shit. Stylish shit" and never went any further. It was more over the top than a cartoon.
-
@mariner4life you talking The Expanse or Into the Badlands?
-
@taniwharugby Into the Badlands
-
@mariner4life thought it was a decent watch, with a bit of your old school mytical kung fu with almost super powers.

What's the opinion on Iron Fist?
Copped a lot of bad press before it was even released but of the Marvel Defender TV stuff I have found it quite watchable.
Daredevil 1 - enjoyed
Daredevil 2 - lost me early on
JJ- enjoyed
Luke Cage - lost me about 2/3s through
Iron Fist - still watching
