It may not appeal to anyone other than NZ rugby fans because Richie is single minded, relentless, down to earth and humble. Not nearly as interesting as a tortured genius like John Daly or Andre Agassi for example
Just saw an ESPN doco about Daly. Happy Gilmour combined with Homer Simpson, Kenny Powers and Nicholas Cage's character from Leaving Las Vegas.
I managed to locate a copy and was very a intriguing and sad watch, but definitiely gives you a good insight into Daly.
@Tim Eric Roberts is in pretty much every d-grade movie made in the past few years.

John Travolta plays Liam Neeson as Brian Mills impersonating an old Vincent Vega. Retired spy whose home life gets fucked up by pieces of shit gangsters. Corrupt cops do exactly jackson, so JT uses his very particular set of skills developed over a long career to track down said gangsters and extract revenge.
Detective Stabler has been fired from the SVU and now freelances, comes out of retirement also to help his old partner. Together they effortlessly track down everyone they need to, and beat the ever loving piss out of them, because drug dealing gangsters ain't shit. They can't even target a family properly.
When will these gangsters learn that hell hath no fury like a retired black ops operative whose family you have fucked with?
2.5 overly identifiable tattoos out of 5 old man ass whoppings
It's not terrible, just very very formulaic, and poorly written.
That's pretty generous M4L. It's a massive stretch taking JT seriously with his ridiculous hair, strangely immovable face and Dad bod to beat all Dad bods.

Think I'm gonna get drunk with a friend and watch it. Looking forward to the kiwi cultural cringe moments in particular.
Her IMDb page shows she's been in a lot of movies I have plans to ever see, apart from this one . Looks superb,
Poor old Michael Madsen is in it too,
Good old Michael Madsen. Shit he was cool. Operative word being 'was'. Awesome article. I did go through a phase of grabbing some crap while renting DVDs just cos he was in them. This was a short lived folly.
Still, a handful of awesome roles ( he woulda been great in Heat too ) is better than none at all....

@MN5 peaked in Reservoir Dogs, TBF, pretty good peak though!
Shit yeah. legendary performance. As the article says he shoulda been a legend.

There were rumours Tarantino was gonna do a Reservoir Dogs/ Pulp Fiction prequel with the Vega brothers starting JT and Madsen. That woulda been sensational but never happened ( JTs coolness factor peaked in the late 70s, dipped in the 80s, returned in the mid 90s but is well and truly gone for good now )
Saturday Night Fever is and always will be a stone cold classic though.

@MN5 Stuck in the MIddle was probably Steelers Wheels peak too!
Tarantino has the Midas touch with music huh? His first three soundtracks were staples on every roadie I ever had in the late 90s.

look, that's entirely fair, but i thought a pass was warranted as i didn't hate it, and didn't consider it a waste of time. It's a movie for when you are hungover i reckon.

So, Sausage Party. For those who saw it, what did you think?
I'm not going to lie, foul mouthed vegetables and personal hygiene products made me laugh more than once.
But, while it probably seemed like a great idea when they came up with it baked off their ass, putting together a feature-length movie took a lot more work, and there was a heap of filler. It honestly seemed like they were wasted while making it, not just during the writing. Some funny social commentary, and pretty funny moments, but some of the jokes ran too long.
Again, a pass, 2.5 fucking jokes out of 5 middle east problems solved (hint: it's fucking)

@mariner4life I gave up on it, wanted to like it, but wasnt even silly enough to be funny, and i like stupid sex inuendos as much as anyone.
Took the kids to see the Batman Lego movie, some pretty funny shit in it, lost a bit of steam in the middle and toward the end, but otherwise decent flick!
3.5 lego superheroes 5 dastardly villains

@mariner4life I thought it was hilarious, our theatre was packed and everyone was cracking up, so that certainly helps. 3 produce aisles out of 5 orgies.

I'm not a fan of Rogan and was very skeptical but I liked it and thought there were enough gags to sustain a full movie. The scenes towards the end were absolutely hilarious
One film I thought looked good but quickly went to poo was Central Intelligence. Stopped watching after about 40 minutes.
Saw Antman last night. That was pretty good.

I think it's bloody hard for a comedy to be funny for an entire 2 hours. Loads have a few good gags in between bits that drag.
Aside from all time classics like Super Troopers, Top Secret, Flying High, Beverley Hills Cop etc.
Step Brothers, Anchorman, Semi-Pro...
