    Spectral

Netflix film set in an Eastern European hot spot where weird shit starts happening to American special forces. Scientist guy with a conscience is brought in, and the switch flips on the action.

Weird shit soon turns to disaster and then scientist guy starts Macguyvering the fuck out of it until it goes all sci Fi.

I found it entertaining, if a little sloppy in execution.

3 out of 5 improvised ray guns built from scratch.

I have a reputation for this on this site ... but I feel the need to do it again.

Rachel Hunter isn't hot and never has been.

You'd have had no problem kicking her out of bed then. Along with the "too fat" Elisabeth Shue.

    Warcraft

I loved it, but I did waste 2 years of my life playing the game so it was pretty awesome seeing a lot of it come to life.

TBH if you're not a fan of the game then this movie probably isn't for you. Storyline was OKish without being great. Action scenes and CGI were pretty cool.

Biggest disappointment was the lack of any Undead characters, who are by far the coolest in the game.

3.5 fell orcs out of 5 evil warlocks.

    A few quite random films:

Rudy: This is a bit if a classic about a little dude who dreamed of playing football for Notre Dame. Not bad and amusing to see a very young Vince Vaugen.

Jack and Jill: Didn't think this was as bad as it was supposed to be. Sandler has done much worse. There were some genuinely funny scenes in this film.

Liar Liar: Not as good as I remembered, but still ok. Always been a Jim Carrey fan.

I'm sure a few of you mentioned "The Nice Guys" back when it came out but why did no one write it big caps MUST SEE!!!!
Maybe I was just in the right mood but I found it funny as fuck. Some great lines too.

Edit: I don't do this thread often and forgot to do a rating

Sandy Wexler .A few laughs , lots of celeb cameos and reminders of the 90s (fruitopia anyone? ) but basically yeah, nah.

Two gratuitous Jennifer Hudson cleavage shots out of five.

Get Out - largely over rated imo. But still worth a look. Its intelligent but not earth shatteringly awesome like some have claimed.

Great Wall - like the spiritual sequel to that steaming pile of shit Keanu Reeves was in where hes a Japanese Ronin except this a chinese based steaming pile of shit that Matt Damon is in.

King Kong - Good popcorn movie. Not as sappy and self indulgent as Peter Jackson's overly long effort. Some really good wtf moments.

Rewatched - What we do in the shadows. That movie is still funnier than anything I have seen since I first watched it.

It was good but I preferred Peter Jackson's effort.

    Split.

Three chicks get abducted by a weirdo with 23 different personalities. Absolutely incredible performance by James McWhatshisname in the main role, chicks are all pretty perveworthy too.

That's where the good stuff ends though. What an implausible load of utter shit. Why did they simply not up and leave ? Or at least manipulate the weaker personalities ? it starts as a psychological thriller and then the supernatural takes over which is just fucken stupid and completely out of place.

Very unsatisfactory ending setting up for inevitable sequels.

1.5 multiple personalities out of 5 gratuitous Bruce Willis cameos.

@MN5 the supernatural didn't really show up late in the piece though, and I can see what they were trying to do, which I think they did poorly and agree it came off more supernatural than the possibilities of what the human brain is or could be capable of.

@MN5 It seems like you missed whole parts of the movie. The main girl in it was trying to manipulate the weaker personalities and the other did try to simply up and leave.

At any rate, the sequel for this and Unbreakable is coming in 2019.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is pretty good. Might have a better story than the first one, and the humour is still there.

The Marvel movies are getting trippy from here on out, as the Thanos end game comes closer.

    Angry Birds

You have to go into this movie with the correct expectations - that the story line will be shit, with absolutely no emotional engagement, and that all it will be good for is making kids laugh when the birds fling themselves into things.

To that end it fulfilled my expectations with the boy (4 years old) pissing himself laughing at times, especially towards the end when they attack pig village.

2.5 anger management classes out of 5 fat green pigs.
