Caught an episode of Band of Brothers. Fark what a great series. Saw the episode with this terrific scene. My grandfather and a shitload of other relatives fought for Germany during WW2 (not always voluntarily) so I get particularly moved by this kind of stuff:
Awesome miniseries, well casted and well acted, I found myself emotionally invested in the group. So much better than The Pacific.

Indeed. Although the final episode of The Pacific when they go home and have to adjust to civilian life is excellent.

I just didn't really warm to the characters the same way. I think it tried to cover too much ground whereas BoB focused on Easy Company

Band of Brothers is a fantastic series. I have dust in my eyes watching the episode "Why We Fight" everytime. What is interesting is the number of British/Irish actors who were involved in the series, playing Americans, and have now become much more famous (e.g. Tom Hardy, Michael Fassbender).
I made a point of watching it again last year as I was going to Normandy. One of the places I visited was the Dick Winters statue on the road to Utah beach.

Took the boys to visit my folks yesterday and as it was a bit grey and rainy we decided to adjourn upstairs to take in some TV. 'Regular Show' got a good viewing and we did about four in a row. My Mum and I laughed more than my boys! Shit it's completely weird ( you'll never see a more odd group of characters than Mordeci, Rigby, Pops, Muscle Man, Skips, Benson and Hi five ghost ) but it's a kid's show with some awesome adult inspired jokes, more than any I can think of.

Yeah its really aimed at the early teen market.
Adventure Time is another weird one that I find awesome.

Love that show. What's cool is the 80s references. I love showing my boys the films and shows they come from.
But yeah, what drugs were they on to create that motley crew?

pretty sure those have all been discussed earlier in this thread...I mean how do you pitch Regular Show to the execs...
you have a Racoon, a bird, a gumball machine, a hand ghost....then you have a flock of geese that turn into a massive goose....

Still a very straight laced show compared to this old classic though

So after spending 9 months in my List on Netflix finally gotten round to watching this unknown show called Stranger Things.
Not sure if anyone else has heard of it.
Pretty fucken good, great nods to the 80s with the John Carpenter synth music to the mix of watching Stephen King/Spielberg even X-Files.
With season 2 to be available later this year I look forward to catching that in 2019. -

It's quite interesting even if some of those kids are just plain annoying (no teeth and black kid - although black kid seems poorly written) then again I'm only two eps.
