The only thing that pisses me off is I don't have a slice of that action, talk about money for jam . All you have to do is keep an eye on product launches and celebs idiot utterances quietly notify anyone who might be outraged and offer whoever fucked up your services smoothing things over . I offered to do the same thing in reverse with Mokeys books ( set up a Christian group, announce they are scandalous and full of sex. Loads of free publicity in the press when I call for them to be banned) sadly she's yet to take me up on it.

There was some arseclown a while back at the black something or other awards wanking on about cultural appropriation. That fact he was doing so while wearing a suit a speaking in English obviously went right over his demented head. Apparently white rappers are only permitted to rap if they have a "ghetto pass", whatever the fuck that is.
Can you imagine the furore if kids with Somali or Pakistani backgrounds in Norway weren't allowed to wear the Viking horns because they weren't the correct culture? Or Indians weren't allowed to play cricket because they were stealing an English game? Do you think that Bavarians give a shit about the worldwide appropriation of Oktoberfest?

I found that Damon Salesa had a very reasoned view on the reasons behind the segregation that the article doesn't even touch. If you haven't watched the video I would recommend you do.
I grew up in Onehunga in the 70s and it was a multi-cultural suburb, where young families could afford to buy or afford to rent. This meant my neighbours, school mates and team mates where from all spectrum of NZ and Auckland society. Interaction and familiarity between different cultures and socio-economic groups leads to understanding and long term friendships, regardless if your parents were meat workers, government employees, Doctors or Lawyers. Having this interaction at a young age makes the differences disappear and things become normal. You would only reject others if they were dick heads not because of their background or culture.
Is this the case today? I don't know as I haven't lived in NZ for almost 20 years. @Virgil , what are your experiences that would self label (sarcastically) as racist?

As said above theres always going to be certain neighbourhoods with an over representation of a particular race.
Hasn't it always been that way?
Think South Auckland who do you picture living there? Think Remuera who do you picture living there?
Not too mention parts of East Auckland have a large Asian contingent as well.
How it all works i guess it depends how deep you want to look into the whys and hows.
Its not like certain areas are fenced off and people with dark skin are forced to live there in shacks and tents. -

I wonder how black you have to be. Would a black great grandfather mean you have to join the black ceremony or could you sneak into the other one?
