Mrs has been watching (as have I cos I'm a good husband) Versaille, I'm not sold on it, plus there is a bit too much man on man action for my liking, probably as much as man on women action, but do wonder about how the French were back then with regard to homosexuality given they were very religious, yet it seems homosexuality was flaunted, particularly as it is the Kings brother.

I'm watching an episode as we speak, 30 seconds ago an ethnic had a towel wrapped over his head before Charles Dance shot him in the face.

@taniwharugby yeah that last one was decent too, no discernible plot but lots of hot women and people of a wide variety of ethnicities getting shot in the head .

It was bloody good if memory serves. Great nostalgia given those kids would all be about our age now. A great homage to a magical era.

Stranger Things was great series, there have been a few similar sci-fi themed series recently, some good, some bad. I managed to get through the first seasons both Outcast and The OA but only because I had already invested some time in them. Of the two Outcast is the better IMO although all a bit loose in the plot. It has Gene Hunt and Data in it which ought to be good but you can't get past them being their previous characters. I've recorded the second series but haven't yet bothered to watch it. The OA was, just pretentious shite but this became more apparent as it went on. In the end it had the feeling of a vanity project.

I gave up on The OA after the first ep. It looked to have too much potential to be a waste of time so I waited to let others go through the pain first. Thanks for confirming.

@Catogrande I liked Outcast, haven't started S2 yet though...isn't a must watch, but is a decent watch.

@taniwharugby I find it funny that shows are cancelled in the US before they even air in NZ. And we wonder why free-to-air TV is dying here.
I personally watch so few TV series on TVNZ/TV3 because they are dominated by fuckin' reality shows or inane comedies. Two shows I do watch have now been relegated to the 11 pm slot, which means they obviously don't rate here. Both have been renewed anyway.
