Yeah why would you need to run a pilot and get approval in the US for a series where muslim = baddie terrorist <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
<br />

For those cynical about the US approach to this subject, Homeland is showing a remarkable level of balance. Hopefully a few rednecks drawn in under the simple guise Bones explains will learn a little bit outside the square.

I started watching Homeland on the weekend and am nearly out of episodes - it is great.<br />
<br />
I wonder if the Israeli original is available anywhere?

I also started watching HOmeland, and looks good...also started on SOA, which is moving along nicely, if not a wee predictable.

Strangely that was the appeal to me. It's like you know the story and where it's heading but the characters don't. Watching them get there is the attraction. The story is a tragedy and they tend to work best that way.<br />
<br />
There's still room for the story to go in different directions right to the end though and I am hanging out for the last ep.

If you like Homeland then you might like Sleeper Cell too. It was very tense.

I'll say: worst episode of the entire series, including all the Irish episodes - what an awful end to what has been a decent S4.

I'm undecided. Torn between disappointed and pleased. Had some good moments.

What did you consider good moments? Can we still do spoiler brackets on here? If so, chuck the good points in there.

Totally agree. Though I haven't overly enjoyed this season. Such a boring final episode.

In that case, ignore what I just said .....<br />
<br />
Toddy, I've actually thought this series was a return to form, bar the little bit stupid Juice's dad is black storyline - which I thought was good that they focused on him but didn't give him a decent story. But that last ep was just meh - I wonder how it would have ended if Sutter wasn't given an extra hour?

I'll mention one that isn't a spoiler.<br />
<br />
I liked the line that Eli used with Juice about "You're a crim, I'm a cop, I want to get back to that"<br />
<br />
Thought Link had some good moments too.<br />
<br />
Sutter could have stopped at 13 and then the first ep of series 5 would have been less dramatic. I actually think that after building so much tension 14 was a rush through clean up of the storyline that could have been handled better if spread over 2 eps.<br />
<br />
But hey, I still think we are being a bit fussy. I really enjoyed the series overall and it is still one of the best shows around.

Agree, fucking terrible. Stupid "deus ex machina" contrivances put there purely to extend the plot line. I won't bother with next season.

Spoilers abound in the link above. It is an in-depth interview with Sutter about the end of 4 and where things may be heading.

I think Sutter needs to sit down and watch his bloody show and see if it's all 'organic' or not.<br />
<br />
SOA is one of my favourite shows and I'll keep watching but he seems to be completely out of step with the fans - although it has been rating well so maybe he's not.<br />
<br />
Tim: There were contrivances on top of contrivances. I fear that SOA will be a show I'll keep watching even though I don't like it anymore just because it was once brilliant and I've invested so much time in it - like How I Met Your Mother which used to be the best thing on the box and now that it is nearly complete twaddle it is getting the best ratings it has ever had, bloody yanks!

Funny how he thought that the main 'contrivance' was one the fans would have spotted way back, which can explain why it came across so weak. Maybe if he had been a little more obvious and given the viewers the same insight earlier on it would have worked better rather than it being a Bobby Ewing moment.
