    Fuuuuuck thiiiis

    Eat a dick death

This might be worse than Bowie

    Generational thing though.

I get that for you guys he was part of the soundtrack to your lives and without wanting to denigrate that legacy I'm just pointing out that he doesn't even register on mine. Had to even work out who he was.
Sad for any musician to go, especially when they 'represent' a generation so it is shit news.
I just wouldn't make comparisons with others except on a personal level (which is what I assume M4L is doing)

What a shock! I finally saw Soundgarden a few years back and Cornell's voice was still stellar. Faith No More was on the same bill. His solo acoustic tour of NZ a few years ago was meant to be great too.

I know what I'll be playing tomorrow.

Original Fire and Cochise are great songs to run to.

Best post-work wind down after a shitty day is #1 Zero - slow, menacing verses followed by a fucking massive middle section, with brilliant guitar from Morello. Back to post-orgasmic slumber prep at the end

52yo. He looked a lot younger than that. He had a full head of hair and everything. Offed himself, reports indicate. With a full head of hair. And everything.

He hung himself in the hotel bathroom so there'll be speculation I guess .
If it is suicide how awful for him to be in a sad lonely place that made him feel like that was the only way out .

YouTube has dozens of covers and duets he did if you wear out the audioslave and sound garden tracks over the weekend .

Eddie Vedder is now the last of the big 4 grunge frontmen left.

The last song on the Soundgarden set in Detroit included parts of Led Zep's "In My Time of Dying". Spooky.

    Kurt Cobain
    Chris Connell

Who's the forth?, I come up with Scott Weiland and Layne Staley

@Virgil Layne Staley. STP aren't considered part of the big 4.

    Ouch!
Have to say I was always a STP fan and then later enjoyed a few Velvet Revolver songs

There was a big 4 of thrash metal in the 1980s so the music critics came up with a big 4 of grunge in the 1990s.

Where would we fit Dave Grohl into this?
On sticks only with Nirvana of course but hasn't done too bad since he stepped out on his own.

Bonus is he appears to be well balanced and almost 'normal'
Unlikely contender for the Deadpool club
