Treeby's tackle was a stiff arm to the jaw that knocked the player out. Clear red card.

What a shitty game. Blues were in it until the last 10 or so.
Ref went a good deal of the way to help the Stormers. who were flying in off their feet at every ruck. Should have been at least a couple more YCs for Stormers in that 2nd half.
Disappointed with SBW who should have rallied the troops and led by example, but instead dropped the ball cold a couple of times, preferred to get involved in handbags(playing right into the Stormers hands) and carried away from support too often, to find himself isolated
Red cards this season are a bloody joke.
Tana needs to go shopping for a decent first five - and sharpish. Gatland is just plain rubbish.

Yeah Gatland didnt offer a hell of a lot when he came on. I thought the Blues lost a lot of shape when Francis came off.

Assuming Perofeta can get through club rugby today unscathed I think its time to him to be given some game time in these last few games.

Good intensity by the Stormers. Completely different side to the one that got bitch slapped in the South Island.
Gibson and Faumuina the Blues best. Ofa went well too I thought at loosehead. That's probably the Blues season gone. So close yet so far as it relates to being a contender. Some of the reffing calls were outrageously bad but Blues only have themselves to blame.

@KiwiMurph Fully agree. You're always up against it in SA with the officiating but the players/coaches should know this and not give the officials reasons to penalise us in the first place.

SBW dropping the ball hot on attack when we were up 19-10 was a game changer imo.

I can't believe that some of you are already writing Gatland off and saying he's rubbish. He's only 141 minutes of Super Rugby under his belt. I'd give him more than one season before writing him off and give him a chance to learn and develop further. Geez

@Stargazer My point was Perofeta was picked in the Blues squad ahead of Gatland for a reason. I want to see what he's got. From the little i've seen he looks very promising.

The play that led to Duffie's second yellow was pretty reckless. Stormers player still on the ground and you dive in off your feet is a penalty. You dive in knees first into the ribs like that and that is dangerous play.

But the Blues still had their chances. They looked good in bursts, they're just lacking that consistency which often allows their opppsition to get back into the game or keep it close.

The Stormers have to be one of the worst attacking teams in Super rugby. They were pretty good defensively, but their attack has so little variation. It wasn't surprising to see passes being shelled by fatties because it was like shock that they were even receiving them.

That's at least a yellow, but probably a red. I can't believe that he didn't get anything for that. Did it go to the TMO.

I just watched a vid of that now, tit looked like the Stormers player was getting up, saw Duffie coming and dropped down again - Duffie probably should led 'arms' first but I assume he was heading at fill tit across the field to try and make the covering tackle.

I wish that league and rugby would get a balance right, league have reverted to not giving a shit about anything and rugby have gone all Bones on us ;).

The try where De allende crawled close to.the line and next player played it off his feet and basically was part of the ruck too, was baffling.

As for the Duffies second yellow, I reckon there should be some responsibility on the ball carrier, his own actions made the situation dangerous there. If he does stand up like he, Duffie hits him around the hip area, fair tackle.

But the thing is, you just need to play good enough to take these kinda calls out of the equation, that's what the better teams do.

@Bones I think the focus needs to be on the shitness of the officiating (regardless of which team was penalised). The number of reffing errors last night was ridiculous.

@Bones Lol as if it's just Blues fans whinging about the refs. Every supporter on here whinges about the reffing in games.

@African-Monkey to the extent of blues fans, every week and every loss? Methinks not. Remarkable difference between blues threads and other NZ teams when the blues lose. Check the Crusaders-Chiefs thread...
